My boss wants to give me a Asus PB278Q and I am not sure if I will need to do something bout my GPU?

I am planning on keeping my 22" monitor as my 2nd monitor because it has awesome quality and a 2nd screen is handy, however I think I might have to upgrade my GPU to handle 27" and 22" at good quality, I only have a GTX 560 DCII TOP/2DI/1GD5 at the moment, think it can handle it? :/

My computer is only used for browing, movies and warcraft at the moment..

Your GPU will be fine for movies/browsing at that resolution (2560x1440) and WoW should be ok too (WoW is also very CPU hungry so that will be a factor too), but you might need to dial the effects back. The Asus is a great monitor and if someone wanted to give me one of them I wouldnt say no!

CPU is 2500k sitting at 4.4ghz, that be ok?

You may need to dial the quality down a bit, but I would have thought it would be ok. My son's PC is a 2500k @4.3 with an Unlocked 6950 and that runs WoW at 1920x1200 without any problems.

Be aware though, 1440p needs a lot more grunt to max games out than 1080p, so it may be worth looking at a GPU upgrade if you want to play something more demanding.

Wish someone would give me this monitor as I'm about to pay near £500 squid for this .

and if someone did give me this monitor then i would definitely upgrade my GPU as my god it would be worth it ! go and get a GTX680 as they are going cheap now.

this is a BARGAIN !!

the only game that would struggle with this GPU this day at 1440p on ultra setting is Crysis 3 .

upgrade you GPU buddy you wont regret it !

Thanks for the advise guys :)

I will look into upgrading my GPU, as nice as the GTX680 looks, I think it might be a bit out of my price range at the moment :(

Yeh I do like free things :) but I did close of a lot of business this week so I think it is my reward :D

I play wow on one of these displays running an ATI 5870 and I run it on high settings in the options. It runs perfectly fine for all my 10 man raiding needs; it's constantly over 60FPS. 25 man LFR can get a little bit chuggy, but it's no where near unplayable.

Looking at the age of the GTX 560, it's slightly faster than a 6870 so I would expect to see you getting higher framerate than me.

Hmm seems sources conflict. The 560 could be on par with my 5870! I'd just give it a go and see how it works. If not then get a newer card.

Good old Nvidia, playing at 60fps on the new monitor @ max res even with another warcraft on the other screen (Which teeters around the 20fps mark)

All in all very happy with this monitor and impressed by my old graphics card :D

Good to hear I may get this monitor use my Asus gtx 670 4gb but I can't overclock my CPU i5 2500 k it's stuck at 3.3 ghz.

Been playing a bit of Crysis3 on mine.

All maxed out (except for AA as you don't need so much at these res's) my GTX670 2GB is coping!!
