If they do that it will undoubtedly have some kind of fee attached, as the next-gen console owners are not paying for GTA V (even though they may already have bought it for the current gen system). If GTA Online is as good as it looks I don't think anyone will mind paying for a next gen version of it.
 
I suspect that the reason they've spun-off GTA Online as its own entity is so they can launch it on other platforms independently of GTA5 and have it stand on its own two feet as a game rather than just being viewed as "the multiplayer bit from GTA5".

In fact, I think a next-gen download version of GTA Online (with a suitable price to match) could potentially sell better than a next-gen version of GTA5 at full price.
 
So I think we've cracked the code then GTA Online will come to next-gen consoles. ITS OFFICIAL!!! OMG!!.....
No but seriously I definately wouldn't mind paying for it again if I could play at least some sort of GTA on my X1 :)
 
If they do bring a next gen version out I hope it's not just a high res copy of the same game. I'd like to see added detail, maybe even better physics and such. No point buying it twice just for a slightly crisper image.

I have never played the 3D PC versions but I presume they are exactly the same game but with higher poly count, higher res textures etc. If that is the case then I can the next gen version being similar with R* using the extra graphical power to make it look better.

Maybe R* are only planning on releasing gta online on next gen or going the route of a small one time fee to switch generation like the other game (was it COD Ghosts?). Until we know what the plan is it is hard to say whether there is a point in buying again next gen but even assuming they do release the full game for full price on next gen then buying it twice would allow people to sell off their old console instead of keeping it for one game - the sale of the console would easily cover the cost of buying the full game again. Also I can see the playerbase slowly shifting to next gen gta online if they do release it.
 
People have apparently been able to extract certain files from the download version of the game, relating to the radio stations, music and apparently also some details about the storyline and characters.

It's almost certain to be launched on next gen, probably after PC release. but still lots of speculation and no actual proof. I just hope we can transfer our DLC/online characters if it does come, I don't mind paying twice but not for 2x collectors editions.

Amazon £100, they have sold out 2 shipments worth and I don't think they will get anymore, so good luck getting one from other places.
