trying to move our taxi business into a slightly more professional direction.
at the moment the wife isn't partaking in any driving due to health reasons so i'm the only customer facing member of staff(staff of 2 btw)

what I want to carry off is a functional comfortable practical and almost professional look.

personally I like my blacklader workwear,it wears exceptionally well comfortable and practical and really I would like to stick with something like the below

http://www.blaklader.com/products/p...15001320-trousers-craftsman-x1500/black-9900/

mostly because I already have a half dozen pairs.

what would you guys recommend in terms of shirt ideally something loose fitting as i'm on the heavier side.

same again with footwear. normally go with trainers or some sort of casual shoes vans/dc etc for comfort. but I find myself feeling out of place and feeling somewhat scruffy looking next to the rest of the airport arrivals pickup folks turning out suited and booted.

I really don't fancy going down the suit and tie route as that really is a step beyond what we're offering, but I want to look presentable. help me ocuk i'm a scruffy fashion disaster

I would ditch the cargo kegs, you don't need shiny shoes but perhaps grey or black boots with black/grey trousers and an office shirt with no tie.

It would look better tucked in, but if you can't / don't want too I wouldn't worry too much.

Aren't those trousers what a builder would wear? :p

Don't need a full suit with tie and jacket, just dark trousers, shirt, and dark formal shoes.

most likely but comfort and practicality are high up on the list :)

pockets for floats chip and pin machine, phones and id badges are ruddy handy things to have located on ones person.

what would you guys recommend in the way of a pair of comfy sturdy shoes?

not fussy regards to price but something that wont see my strung up by the fashion police would be good

The one thing I wish most taxi drivers would take care of above all else is their personal hygiene. I'm not suggesting that you don't, but it would appear that a lot of taxi drivers aren't aware of their musk.

Black trousers, white shirt and a dark plain tie would look professional. Unless you're driving some sort of limousine, don't wear a hat.

Does it have to actually be shoes?

You'd probably be best just hitting the shops mate and having a look about.

having spent the last 10 years owning 1 suit and pair of dress shoes and the rest of my wardrobe consisting of denims combats tshirts and trainers I am wholly out of my depth :(

that's one thing i'm very conscious of both my self and cab are impeccably spotless :)

I drive a Peugeot, the only hat I would wear would be one saying dunce :)

Go for a wander! You'll only get ideas by looking about, and typically at stuff you didn't really pay much attention to before!

Just get chinos, dress trousers, a couple of shirts and whatever footwear you decide on! TK max or Primark or something to start with, cheap and cheerful.

Don't mix browns & blacks.

Is this your own business with company logo?
How about getting some shirts, for example couple white and couple of black, made up. Give yourself a bit of a brand!

now theres a thought,

thinking some sort of dress button down shirt with corpororate logo on the breast/sleeve or something like a high end polo?

Dress like Johnny cab :D
