*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

okay i think i'll get BF4! i guess its more realistic, plus you get to fly and drive vehicles.

i was a veteran on BF2, clocked 100's of hours. battlefield since though.. hasn't felt the same :/ put a few hours into 3, but never really got into it like 2.

I will be your friend;)

I'm going to get BF4 , watchdogs at launch

it might also be worth mentioning that i don't have many, if any friends that play on the ps4..

Have a look at the list of people from these forums who have a PSN ID. Maybe add a few of them. You can add me but I won't have a PS4 til next year sometime.

It will. An EA rep has said they want a shooter every year but cycling between BF, Battle Front and Titan Fall

Source

I doubt then they'll miss out the PS4 the year that Titan Fall is the game to be released.

That could just mean the PS4 will get titanfall 2.

I thought DualShock 4 has a different connection to the DS3?
But you didnt connect the headset into the DS3 in the first place, was USB/BT generally

EDIT:Actually I wonder what will be made for the DS4 port, as its proprietary its probably lead to some new headsets, Ill stick to universal BT, hopefully Sony bring out a more comfortable version though of theirs :p

I thought DS4 uses a standard 3.5mm port for headset/mic like you get on a phone?

Have a proper look at it - its looks like the old style discman/minidisc headphone connector that had a in-line remote control. It has a 3.5mm connector but also a digital connector which could be used for mute/volume etc...

Yeah I saw that part but assumed it for something else because the bundled headset doesn't use it!

Maybe they just cheaped out and didn't bother with controls on it

I'm thinking of picking up either a pair of Astro A40's or SteelSeries Siberia v2 for the PS4, hopefully compatibility shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah it wont or have quite basic ones - this is what I mean:

See top left for the connector

Very similar connectors to me - nowadays you can do a lot of the 3.5mm jack control wise so the digital part could be for more interesting audio stuff like 5.1, depends what you can send and the quality of it over BT though. The digital connector most definitely is proprietary...

You sure? Why would it use the headphone connector rather than (mini?) USB connector on the top? Didnt know Sony had released a dock, though I havent really kept abreast of new accessories...

EDIT: Never mind I found it, very interesting - wonder what else that headphone connector can do/power...
