Almost two months ago now, I decided to upgrade my E46 320D SE and looked around for a while and ended up driving to BMW Williams in Manchester to pick up my 2008 BMW 320D Edition M Sport Touring. Loving the car and thought I'd share some pictures with you guys.

Was quite happy with the motorway fuel consumption after a long trip:

The only downside I have is that I think secretly I went for an auto so now I'm in a situation where I'm kind of torn as my model is fully specced, only options missing really are xenon's and panoramic roof so if I upgrade to an auto, it's a matter of finding one with all the creature comforts that I have now, but also gives me an excuse to go for a 330D or what I've been looking at recently (a 335D).

Either way, hope you like the car all :)

It's not - it looks standard other than leather and Pro Nav. Most 330d's will have both of these anyway so it would be fairly easy to retain the same or better spec if you moved to a 330d.

Most of the other things you like about it, ie PDC, climate, cruise, are all standard fit :)

Personally I'd hang onto it for at least 3 years by which time you could then move to an F30. Moving to an E91 330d 2 months after buying yours as an AUC is going to cost a significant outlay which I dont think it is worth it to move within the same model range.

I have pro nav, Bluetooth with voice control, telematics, lumbar, heated seats, electric seats, among other options too.

Also got a really good price on mine with 42 k on the clock at £13,400. So should be able to still sell for a good price.

yeah, just proves that you should have listened to me in the first place when I told you to get a 330D

FYI CAP Clean is £12k, CAP Retail £14k (based on low options).

Private sale you should get close to CAP Clean.

Get a proper engine this time :)

If you are going to move to a 330d at least hold out until you can afford an LCI model with the newer 245bhp engine. It's really good, plus the facelift freshened up the front end of the E9x.

Yeah, I will go for an LCI. Not actually a fan of the new F30/31 models. The interior isn't as nice in my opinion, but an LCI with SSD nav etc... will be welcomed due to the slower nav on the pre-facelift like mine.

64 mpg on the motorway seems good might have to add a 4pot diesel 3xx touring to my to look at list

It's surprisingly good, I have never managed that and once covered 1500 miles in a 2008 318d...

If that's pure motorway, and reset once you're at speed and left on cruise then it's possible, but my 320d LCI tourer doesn't get close to that on an average 300 mile round trip which is mostly motorway. I normally see a bit more than 55mpg on such a trip.

Even that is pretty reasonable in fairness
