Hey all, I have a I5 3570K with a H100 for cooling.

Stats below.

My question is, Can I push it more or leave it at 4.5Ghz? Load temps are around 50c.

yes you can push for more!!

50c temps load in what? what are you using to stress with?

here's a guide for all gigabyte z77 includes 4.5ghz/4.6ghz and 4.8ghz oc settings, just enter you own ram speed/timings/voltage or enable x.m.p

http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyt...-th-z77x-up5-th-overclock-settings-guide.html

stay below 1.4v full load cpu voltage and below 80c or between 80c-85c is fine

Am using the intel program to 100% max load the CPU and I get readings of around 50c.

Can I not hit 5Ghz? Or would things become unstable?

I doubt you'd hit 5ghz

I don't know that program too well,im guessing prime95 would stress it more idk

I could only hit 4.8ghz due to delidding my cpu otherwise temps would have been 100c plus

as general rule of thumb around 4.5ghz-4.6ghz is the norm for non delidded ivybridge's,any higher temps become uncontrollable no matter what cooling you use

Interesting, I didn't think increasing to 5ghz would make such a huge difference in temps.

Also, The program is made by intel so I trust it's doing it's job.

Try downloading prime 95 and you will see your temps it is regarded as one of the best stress testing programmes and down load Hardware monitor its temp readings and other features are good

5 minutes is nothing run it for 1 hour atleast and even then that doesnt indicate stability most of us run prime for upto 8 hrs even OCERS themselfs test their pre OC'ED bundles for minium of 8 hrs

Sure, If you wanna be sure. But I like to get a baseline temp, Cause if the day comes I 100% my CPU then it's time to upgrade :P
