New graphics card coming monday. have i made the right choice?

hi,

just ordered Asus GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II 2gb coming monday. have i made the right choice or should i have gone for the 760 at roughly the same price point? opinions would be appreciated. thx.

yeah i was looking on numerous forums as im currently upgrading my system month by month. and went fo Asus GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II in the end. i could have got it for £186 a couple of weeks ago but couldnt make my mind up. i have a 37" monitor will it run ok on this?
 
It is a good choice
The 6xx series cards are great value now compared to old prices
The 7xx series cards a an absolute rip off imho. Little new technology just essentially rebrands of last generation cards

I plan on buying a 680 next month and then upgrade the the 8xx series cards when they come out as hopefully they should be actually worth buying and be a little more innovative now we have slightly more competition from next gen consoles which are monopolised by AMD
 
thanks for all your comments. it does look like ive made the right choice for value and performance. looking forward to getting my processor and mobo in the coming 85+tuyyyyyyyy
 
Yeah 670 > 760...
I think Nvidia lost the point releasing the 760, maybe the 760ti or something like that will be the replacement for the 670
 
You made a great choice, but for a tiny bit extra (a tenner! Madness!) I would have gone for the 4GB version for sure. As a longish time 670 SLI owner, the amazing deals on 670's on here at the moment make me feel a bit sick.

Yes, there shouldn't be any kind of problems unless you will move onto more than one monitor, and 2GB is plenty for a single monitor setup if you're only using games and ain't doing any high end video stuff. Personally on a single monitor setup I never seen more than 1.6.
