Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [31 August - 01 September 2013]

It is the worst squad Fergie has left Moyes with though. Should have left him the 2007-08 squad with Ronaldo in! Most of the squad is youngsters that need developing still and players that are past their peak.

I said it when i seen the draw, United wont have an easy group for CL. Some people think they are through already that is not the case at all. Worrying times for United fans unless Moyes gets some quality players in.

I meant age in that you're still starting Giggs. Rio and Evra are relied on a lot and are the wrong side of 30. Then you have the youngsters who like you said are still developing and can't be relied on. Lacking the inbetweeners I guess.

No idea how old Vidic is?

We never have an easy group, because we usually make it difficult.

Considering the teams they could have been drawn with, it's an easy group. On this form they'll certainly make it look difficult, though.

Im telling u, Marseille are top in France, Sociedad are a quality team beat Lyon 4-0 over 2 legs and Shakhtar are a good team it would be a hard group for any team.

Oh but I still think it's the worst squad SAF has left Moyes with. Would much prefer the 1999 squad to be left with.
Fergie did say stick with Moyes so I guess the youngsters will come into their own in a few years. We needed young players like Vertonghen and Bale in our squad and a mid 20yo developed MF. Vidic is over 30 as well so we're relying on over 30yo's.

Manchester United manager David Moyes: "I thought we played really well. We had long periods of the game but couldn't score. Apart from the lapse in concentration for their goal, we played well.

"We got two or three opportunities but it was unfortunate we didn't take them.

"I thought Danny Welbeck got kicked in the back of the leg, for me it was a penalty.

"Phil Jones went over on his ankle, we don't know how bad it is.

"From what I saw today, I'm more than happy with what I've got. It's the best we've played this season. I wouldn't be worried if I didn't add to the squad."

Go wild everyone, woo!

Long live the Moyes Era. :D
