7950 Crossfire advice and info

TFIII/Ice-Q combo works fine, though with the racket the TFIII makes, you'd never know the Ice-Q was there.:p

I had a small stint with that combo but couldn't hack the noise from the TFIII amongst other things at the time.:)

No the TFIII was perfect, no diode/paste problems, just that when you are used to the Ice-Q's running very cool and quiet on high clocks, the TFIII doesn't have a look in as when the fan ramps up past 60% in CrossFire mode, it's a screamer in comparison.:)

Also how would I go about overclocking the second card, are you able to overclock them separately as my current card has an overclock already?
Should I put the Ice-Q is the first slot before anything to check it is running fine or will putting it in the second slot do the same?

Thankyou guys, have any of you changed the power limit from +20 to +50?

Tom

No i flashed a different bios that removed the boost part of the card. However if you use the stock bios you should use the +50% power hack if you plan to overclock to 1100 on the core and beyond. Otherwise you might find the card throttling during intensive games. You will know this is happening if you have an osd running as you will see the core clock drop on the overlay.

~+30% usually stops the gpu spikes for me, in some of the intense titles-HM, TR, C3, spiking was still happening@20% using a custom disabled boost bios for me.

This is why we need the stickies sorting :)

Yep, hopefully oCuk get on it, make life so much easier round here. :)

Cool thankyou guys for the help and the guides, just followed the Power Limit Hack and am now able to select +50% but am I better off going straight to +30% and seeing how I get on?

I needed 30% to remove throttling at extreme overclocks.

I have just moved onto the memory on Afterburner and running at 1100/1275 and the score is already due to the 25Mhz increase in memory. I have added two notches (1.162v) on the memory voltage and the scores are still the same. Could it be that I need to add more voltage?
