** Coming soon ** - High quality Rollei Action Cams!!

Specs not as good as GoPro, yet prices are not cheaper...

Think people should stick with GoPro

£250inc with all of the accesories bar perhaps a suction cup vs £300 for the none black go pro that spec wise is similar and then you need to spend £150+ to get to the same playing field.

Point missed greatly. Well done :)

Hmm, resolutions aren't really there when comparing with the GoPro Hero 3 Black.

Code:
         Hero3 S5

NTSC
4K 15 N/A
2.7K 30 N/A
1080p 60, 48, 30, 24 30
720p 120, 60 60, 30
WVGA 240 N/A

WVGA will do 120fps but yes I see your point. The 5S isnt to target the Black, the S50 is which isnt released yet.

Just to add, if all anyone is going to post is, GoPro is better and same price without actually looking at what you get for the money then please dont. Also, brand snobery.. really? Shoot me down because I have a Mac and a Rollei rather than an uneventful PC and a GoPro.

I am looking for another action cam but this just doesn't have the res or FPS to be worth looking at for me, need 60fps at 1080p and 2.7k at 30fps. Especially as its more expensive than a gopro..

They do seem to come with a couple of things that GoPro charge extra for. The LCD screen for starters. That's £70 for the GoPro and is rubbish. Bundled AV cable too but that seems to be it.

It's £300 when compared to £310 for the GoPro Silver with a screen and AV cable. I just can't see a compelling reason to buy these over a GoPro.

Am I missing something? What accessories does the 5S come with that are extras for the GoPro (Excluding the screen of course)?

No brand snobbery here. I hate GoPro's arrogance but I've yet to see another competing camera out there that takes the same or better quality video for the same money.

Find me the black for less with the accesories and send it via trust to me.

That may be telling. But possibly.. at a later date. :)

well I think its brilliant. I have a friend who has about 4 go pro's including the 3 black edition or what ever it is. I cannot believe how expensive they are.

I know they are good but for me, somebody who would use one a few times a year, I would much rather buy something I can forget about rather then something that costs over a months worth a shopping. I don't get the value in Go pro's as I am not a hardcore user but something like this seems perfect. I may lose some quality of FPS but I never had any to begin with as I will not spend so much on a go pro.

Looking forward to more details

I want to borrow one to display the awesome limb shredding performance of my Vtec equipped Genuine Mugen Honda

no limbs will be shredded by you captain greenpeace.

I am borrowing a 5S to go snowboarding with on monday :)

so you all get to see the quality of the camera whilst enjoying footage of me tumbling down a hill like an elaborate helicopter crash :D

That I wanna see!

And I have posted 2 videos, one of me in my car. I will be honest all the videos seems to be able the same quality, its the audio which lacks for most cameras. My 4S is included in that.

Wow, don't get so defensive! Have you picked your dummy off the floor yet?

You can get a GoPro Black Edition for £250 brand new, shop around it's not hard...

The specs in the S5 don't even compare to the Black Edition, and they are priced similarly. Accessories aside (which all I can see from the list is a bag and an SD card), specs are far more important for an action cam.

You boasted about an LCD screen. But the GoPro has wifi and a FREE app which allows you to view on any IOS or android device.

They just don't compare. Fair enough if the Rollei was undercutting the GoPro on price with the same specs, but it just isn't.

Now, don't get so angry next time.

The £50 one is actually a rather attractive proposition. I was focussing on the expensive ones but overlooked the low end one.

If it has a decent quality AV out, then it could be just the ticket to mount on one of my multirotors as a better quality FPV cam.

I too am more intrigued by the lower offerings. The higher models really take you into GoPro territory where I think the footage is simply better, but it's a high cost of entry to GoPro model ladder. I'd be intrigued to see footage from both the sub £100 cameras.
