I am trying to chose a birthday present for my niece. At Christmas I bought her a couple of nerf guns (N-strike mavericks to be specific) and they usually appear within minutes of me going round to visit, so I'm thinking more in that vein, mostly because I enjoy playing with them as much as she does.

Obviously, as its been more than 5 minutes since they were opened most of the original darts are missing, so a set of spare darts is in order, but the question is, what else should I get? Budget is around £20. I saw a bandoleer thing that holds nerf darts, but that's really designed to hold the clip/mags some nerf guns take, which hers don't.

Any suggestions? What would you buy to augment your arsenal in a nerf gun fight?

Half our office have nerf guns. I reckon the best is the Strong arm revolver, the bigger ones are just silly. They have the same range and rate as the smaller ones. Also the battery powered ones are a waste of time, the batteries run out in days.

Get a couple of dart packs too, they evaporate I swear. We've lost about 60 in our office and can't find them.

The best nerf propelling tool is your own arm IMO :D

We've lost many many bullets over the last 6 months, we think the cleaners just throw them away.

We bought our kids a Nerf target board, you can have about three different modes to play, quite fun.

My youngest has this:

I have this:

My girlfriend has two of these:

My eldest has this:

The two boys also have one of these each:

We also have a healthy supply of additional darts and they have a tactical vest each.

It's fun when we have a war in the house.

:D

My girlfriend and house mate know to be afraid when they here the 'click' of the safety.

Extra darts are a must, maybe a second gun for duel wielding goodness?

My kids always appreciated more ammo the more the better £20 should get about 3 boxes, w h smith often have the ammo on offer.

have most of them :D my kids often shoot me in the face :( :p

It's the whir of the motor, it's a war siren. I know war is imminent so it's time to grab mine and wait for the first shots to be fired.

Get one of those giant rocket launchers. My mate had one when I was a kid and it launched a rocket the size of a Pringle tin a good 100yards when pumped up a lot. Think of it as your nuclear deterrent.

You sir are the reason I cancelled my BF4 pre-order last night - I hope your happy :p lol!

Seen this post and thought what the!!! - you know I hardly ever get time to game on my PC any more so put the £30 I had set aside for BF4 towards argos special offers on NERF stuff.

Got 2 x handguns (similar to them your GF has) but blue instead of yellow for £15 for both (for both kids - 4yr old and 6yr old)
Got myself a 'stockade' - £29.99 reduced to £12.49! and a set of 30 spare darts for £5.

All in thats about the best £30 I've ever spent on toys for my kids - we had 2 hours of fun straight after work today - my son got pwned by taking one to the lip point blank (shot himself LOL!) - already lost 2 darts and we have a broken lamp shade.

expected the wifey to sign the divorce papers this evenin as a result but she was REALLY happy to see how it all worked out pretty darn well - I've never heard 'I love you daddy' more times in one whole month than I did this afternoon. Walked out of the bathroom at 6 and got 'crossfired' by them both LOL.

Respect - nothing beats spending time with your own kids with stuff like this - much more enjoyable than BF4 :) :) :)

Ah well - guess BF4 will have to wait till I can no longer resist getting a new 9790 or whatever
