When I turn right, I get a squeaking noise which increases and decreases with car speed. Just took it to Kwik Fit and they tell me it's the rear wheel bearing as it looks worn, and they want £160 to replace it.

So looked on eBay and found this item.

Is it the correct part and if so, how easy are they to fit for someone with limited car mechanical knowledge. I can take bumpers off and change brakes easy enough but that's about it.

If you can get the hub off yourself and even remove the bearing yourself. Take it down to a friendly garage and get them to press the new bearing in for you.

Make sure to check the wheel flange (The bit the wheel studs go into) as if the bearing has slipped it will leave marks that could effect your new bearing so I would replace that as well if that is the case.

Chris, That's way too big a job for you.
I've got most of the tools to do it but if you were thinking of asking me to help then I can tell you right now I'd not be confident of success, at all!!

shame you are not near any of its outlet.

Yeah that's what I am thinking. I'm waiting for Mike to get back to me, could take some time as you know!

It's a pain and you need access to a press. Alternatively buy a new hub with the bearing already fitted. That's what i did when i had my MK1 focus.
