Will my PC keep up with a Titan?

Hi all,
Sick of the 7850 - Never really got on with it, the drivers arent the most stable in the world and I've always been a bit of nVidia fan...

So, TITAN!!!!

This Titan to be exact...

Question is, is it too much for my current system? (Spec in sig) - If it is, what nVidia card would best compliment it?

Cheers all.

You can run it, but it's a huge waste of money. You could get 2x670s and save £400.
2 x 670 4GB for £420... who needs sex when you got a pair of those babys to give you a big thrill, happy days.

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX TITAN 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (06G-P4-2790-KR)
Total : £820.79 (includes shipping : £9.00).

Strictly speaking, Titan will bottleneck your cpu in(admittedly) a few titles, it's also(generally) a waste of money now that the 780 can almost match it.

Smart money would be selling on your cpu and put it towards:

YOUR BASKET
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 780 HOF 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **ALL WHITE** £575.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £275.99
Total : £863.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

or

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 780 Lightning 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £599.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £275.99
Total : £887.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Fingers crossed you get better luck with Nvidia.:p:D

It's really down to the type of games you play. If you play games that are not so graphic intensive, but is very CPU intensive, or uses less than 4 cores, it could still bottleneck the Titan.

Theres why it doesnt work for you m8.

Would say though that the titan isnt worth the money now that the 780 gtx is here.I would pick one of those bad boys up instead.

I would imagine sales of the Titan cards plummeted with the release of the 780's and with good reason.

As above you could if you wanted to spend the money go i7/780, sell your i5 and still be better off than if you went with just a titan.

I can assure you that isn't me!! Just a bit OCD about my new build!!

So is a GTX 780 newer than a Titan?

Yes newer and just as good if you get a decent clocker.

Only reason to go Titan is if you need the 6gb VRAM or are using it to do CAD work and what not.

780's are basically Titan chips that didn't pass off on all 14 SMX units, the 780's have 12.
