Should water companies be banned form adding fluoride to our water?

and in water fluoride is about 0.7mg per ml

so 0.7g per l, so for 5 grams (bare minimum) 7.14 liters needed to be drunk at once. given about 5-6 liters of water drank at once will kill you anyway you're pretty good.

edit: i'm an idiot, added a second m, 7/14 tons of water :p

Off by a few orders of magnitude. It is 0.5-1mg per litre.

Instead of reading articles from news sources, YouTube videos or the side of a box of toothpaste, read the scientific literature on fluoridation. That would give you a much better grounding on the evidence of any health risks.

I'll also mention your obvious flaw in logic when you point out the warning on the toothpaste box. It says consult a poison centre in case of an overdose but you've assumed that this is because of the flouride and not the myriad of other ingredients.

Actually it was a documentary I watched. It was about 3 years ago. It was made by somebody with a PHD in chemistry and who works in the industry. I can't for the life me me think of the title of the documentary though.

I assume it is fluoride they are warning you about on the toothpaste because in the documentary I watched they claimed the warnings on toothpaste was because of using fluoride as an ingredient.

Lol. But you are still saying eating toothpaste can cause a problem. They are covering their backs because as they say on the labels if you eat more than you put on toothbrush consults your poisons center. They don't say if you eat a load of toothpaste. They say if you eat more than you put on your toothbrush I don't know about you but I would say I put roughly 1 teaspoon full of toothpaste on my toothbrush.

you put one teaspoon on your brush?

You guys should probably be aware that the reason why toothpaste cannot be consumed is because toothpaste is, essentially, mint-flavoured soap. Soap is NOT EDIBLE and that's why you spit out the toothpaste-foam when you've finished brushing your teeth.

Ok I going by that photo I obviously put a less than teaspoon full of toothpaste on my toothbrush. So they are saying if you eat more than you put on your toothbrush (less than one teaspoon full) consult a poisons center.

No they're saying do that if your child under 6 eats the stuff phone poison control.

children are much more sensitive to this kinda of thing than you are because they have very little body mass.
(and because they might get sued, if someone eats a whole tube full and gets ill or something this ay they're completely covered)
to prove this i'll happily eat table spoon full and report back if i die.

Fluoridation of drinking water is a good idea, well unless you're a Dentist! LOL at conspiracy theory nutters.

It is an interesting point though... should the government be adding chemicals to our tap water? Shouldn't it just be water? If you want to add fluoride for the health benefits (which is sensible) you can choose do it yourself alongside your water softener/etc. That way it's you're choice, rather than the government telling you what to do.

This is one of those wonderful threads where the OP ignores all the people who make sensible points and just keeps on ranting anyway.

Quick search reveals he also uses "sheeple", which, while unsurprising, I still feel should be instantly bannable.
