Introducing: AMD Radeon HD 8950 and HD 8970 Graphics

I know it is only rebranded ones... but does anyone know what does it showns on the device manager / drivers?

7970 or 8970?

It would be the latter. Device Manager doesn't really know what hardware it's looking at, it just goes by hardware id code
 
Not generally like this (Although Nvidia did 3XX as OEM parts, although I'm sure that was lower end parts)
It gives the impression these are a generation ahead.

Think that's what they trying to achieve? either way I also have no idea why they releasing this.

It's because the OEM retailers demand it - they want to be able to market a new generation of cards every year, even if the graphic card manufacturers haven't created a new generation in that time.
