Well, if you have just gone over to O2 4G you will find that the S4 will not switch to 4G. It appears that a patch is required to switch it on:

I was wondering why I couldn't get the signal. A short term solution is to download Battery Monitor Widget:

Go tests/device info and set preferred network type to LTE/GSM

I now have 4G and let's hope the patch appears asap.

:)

Nice. What speeds are you getting?

I'm happy now. :D

Blimey that was quick. Samsung firmware download has arrived and this should be the LTE enable fix.

I have a 4G ready phone on 02 that I got back in March, do I have to wait until my contract ends or can I just swap out SIMs?

You'll need a 4G sim then log into your O2 account and you'll most probably be offered a 4G tariff and will be able to finish your contract.

I just got 4G from vodafone the other week, didnt need a 4G sim and they did the switchover around midnight so when i woke up next morning..i saw 4G on my screen.

Only thing ive found is that 4G kills my battery off pretty quick, using a Blackberry Z10 so its 4G enabled.

Ill post up some speed test results when i get home, sadly here at the office...reception isnt all that great with the big tall buildings around here and its not just voda, ive used tmobile, orange and o2 and they all suck data wise here lol.

You do realise that this thread is about O2 4G not being enabled on SG4 phones and not 4G speeds. ;)

Problem now resolved on unbranded phones with today's firmware update:

PDA:MH8 / PHONE:MH8 / CSC:MHA (BTU)

From the bedroom (Not going to be too popular if I start using it there. :p) on this new firmware....

Probably only a few people in London using 4G at that time but worth boasting about. :D
