Hi, I'm eligable for a 50gb Dropbox with my S4. When I opened up the app it was only 2gb but emailed me a link to claim the extra 48gb.

I completed the steps but it's only giving me an extra 2.5gb. It was an old existing account under that email address (I didn't realise I had it), but also I read that it shouldn't matter?

If I have to make a new account to get the 50gb allowance, how do I do so because I think you have to use the version of the app that comes with the S4, i.e not the one from the marketplace? I don't see any option to log out/create a new account with the Dropbox app...

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Cant you go through the website and enter your login details (same as the app) to get the full amount?

I did this a few days ago and got 50gb after doing the steps it asks for.

Seem to remember installing the app on the pc as well to claim the 50gb.

That's what I am doing. It sends me a link to the website saying I will get an extra 48gb I then sign in with my account details. My account is 5gb still, just checked.

I've just done this for my wife by following their seven steps on the website. 50GB unlocked after completing four of them.

Was that an existing account though? Unknown to me I already had an account with them which had been uploading photos from my Galaxy S2. This is the account I used for the 50gb, as I had read that it didn't matter if you used an existing account (you would still get the 50gb).

I completed 5 of the steps.

For the extra space from a phone deal don't you need to turn on auto upload for your photos from your phone?

I didnt go through any steps when i got my S4. Just logged on the app and got sent an email saying congrats youve got an extra 50gb.....

I just had this email from Dropbox :

Thanks for contacting us, and I'd be more than happy to help.

It looks like you only have a Galaxy SII linked to this account.

If you have a different Samsung phone, in the Dropbox app on your phone you can relink to the correct account with the following steps:

- Open the Dropbox app
- Click Menu -> Settings -> Unlink Device from Dropbox
- Reopen the Dropbox app
- Reenter your Dropbox account details when prompted.

Hope this helps, and please let me know if there is anything else I can do!

Well I had already done this, but I followed it through again and when I re-enter my details in the app - it just prompts me to claim my extra 48gb of space, emails me, I then follow the link as before. Takes me to the "get started" page, all the steps are already done and it still says "you got 250mb" :\

Have you tried creating a new account on the website? Then sign out of the app and put the new account info in.

Looking like this might be the only way forward, I've got a bad feeling even that isn't going to work! I have emailed customer support again - I'll wait and see if there is anything they can do before trying this.
