Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Ill probably just shell out the full price via origin for the premium package as well. Id only drink/gamble away the money anyway. Havent been playing games as much lately due to being busy at work. I try to cram in as much overtime in the summer as possible, as in my line of work the winter time can be a bit lean. Besides ive spent a shedload of money lately upgrading my pc, best to get some use out of it when i do have time to play games again.

I'm in the same position only picking BF3 back up recently after a 8 month break. I've purchased BF4 and Premium via the Thailand Origin site and also another 680 in the last week. Can't wait for BF4!

LOL! You guys getting a BF4 server?

Yep, Me and Matt need new class A midget escorts. The current ones have worn off :D

Start donating peeps! But yeh we will have our dedicated box run BF4 from the start as Matt said and probably will keep 1 BF3 server running (vanilla) for a bit. Depends if there is still people (read regulars) that enjoy playing it once in a while.

CQ247.co.uk should keep you posted.

Ordered myself a 7970 ghz wf3 today, hopefully that will do for a little while, was humming and harring over that or a 680, think I've made the right choice?

Gonna get another 7970 myself when I've paid my cc off... wonder if my xfx 650 psu will be enough to run 2x 7970 ghz editions or with that need upgrading as well? :(

Might be pushing it on 650w westie, particularly if oc'ing the cards and cpu. Amd's latest cards do seem to be that bit more power hungry than an equivalent nv card.

i have a 3930k and 2 7970s all overclocked.

i got a reading of 750ish watts using the corsair onboard power monitor of my power supply.

that was with everything on 100%

Bought a 780 myself in preparation for BF4, can't be dealing with multi GPU's even though they've fixed most of the micro stuttering, latency is always higher over single cards. Plus SLI/CF doesn't work well at all in some other games I play.

As for a 650w XFX I wouldn't risk it, XFX PSU's are good, most are manufactured by Seasonic but I'd go with an 850w or above, preferably gold rated.

I havent measured power draw with the 4770k yet, (still at stock). But on the previous 3770k setup, at 4.5ghz on the cpu, power draw in games was 430w. Never bother oc'ing the gpu's for games now as the heat is too much. The pitfalls of non ref cards in sli. Though strangely, they run a few c cooler in the maximus VI formula board. Despite it being tighter spaced than my Z77 V Pro.
