Usually I wouldn't be surprised by a report of a pile up in thick fog, especially given the amount of people I drove past on my way to work this morning not showing so much as a sidelight despite thick fog.
But given reports of visibility down to 10-20 yards, how can so many people not have had the good sense to slow right down and turn on their fog lights? Even given the conditions, that's a shocking amount of cars involved.
Dozens of people have been injured as more than 130 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes in thick fog on the A249 Sheppey crossing in Kent.
