But then shouldn't we be happy that they've reacted and changed? Basically people are angry at MS for going with a vision.....then angry with them for changing that vision after feedback...it's ridiculous.

Well, they're not changing out of the kindness of their hearts, they're changing because they realised nobody was going to buy their console, (nobody is an exaggeration and just to emphasis a point) :).

I had no problem with their initial vision, it just wasn't something I thought would work nor did the features appeal to me.

Cloud gaming with Gaikai, shared play which allows a friend to jump into your game and talk you through a section you're stuck on, or physically take over to help you out. Video sharing and editing built in, remote play which will be incredibly handy as I have a Vita, plus the new OS looks very nice to use also. :)

This, again.

This.

Microsoft didn't change all their plans out of the kindness of their heart, or because they actually care about what gamers want.
Of course they (and Sony, and Nintendo) care about what gamers want, that's how they sell consoles and games...

If you think Sony (or anyone else) have some kind of altruistic regard for you personally as a gamer beyond your $ I fear you're very much mistaken.

Either way, the fact that they listened and continue to change things suggests to me an absolutely opposite of arrogance and disregard for their customers requirements/thoughts/feelings. Not many global companies would have the grace to stand up and say "we got it wrong, how about this instead" to it's customers.

They only did this because they were scared at the lack of pre orders, the wave of negative feed back and the big gap that would have opened up between the two consoles (losing them their share of the market), it was not done out of the goodness of their hearts, nor for care and love of their customers.

I don't hate them or whatever for this, I just didn't like their vision for the console, so I went with the PS4. I expect the same went for other people, now things have changed (Microsoft have had to change) that the gap has narrowed, which is what Microsoft needed.

How naive are you? Why do you think any company does anything? Do you think Sony give games on PS+ out of the goodness of their own hearts?

No I don't think that, but I've seen lots of comments along the lines off ' See Microsoft are listening to gamers' etc. People are acting like Microsoft are going to give them what they want all the time, when the fact is they only did this time because nobody was going to buy their product if they didn't. What happens a couple of years down the line when Microsoft already have their sales and go back on all the changes they made? Then what?

Then surely them changing their design to make it more in line with what the general public wants is to be lauded, not attacked? Not you particularly, but I do feel MS are kinda in a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" place. They misjudged what the public wanted, presented their vision badly, got blasted for it, changed to what the majority wanted, then got blasted again. Just seems a bit unfair for people to continue to have a go at them, even when they are trying to rectify their mistakes.

The remote play on Vita is the best feature for me, it'll be really handy in the future I think. I'm not overly bothered about streaming older games through Gaikai or the Cloud (MS have said today they may do something similar with old 360 games), as I generally keep my older consoles anyway :)

I'll be keeping my old consoles too, I think Gaikai will be handy for streaming demos of new games if that is ever implemented. :)

I unfortunately agree. I'd love to feel that any games company really values me as a gamer, but they're all businesses, and like any business, they want to make money. It's not just MS, Sony or Nintendo, it's the same the world over. Sad but true unfortunately.

Great :) So looking forward to it

Has there been any gameplay videos? Only seen the cinematic trailer.

That's all I've seen, not even sure when it's due!

What basis do you have for believing they'll do that? Have they done it before? They would get sued if they did it.

In fact the only company that have done that....is Sony.

My only concern with that feature is how reliant on bandwidth would it be? Could I easily stream a demo on a 6MB connection? If not, it's no real improvement over having to download the demo like we do now.

I'm still not convinced pre orders make up a significant amount of sales over the 10 year expected life of the consoles. I'm not saying they made changes out of the kindness of their hearts. I'm saying they presented a vision, got feedback from gamers and their customers that they didn't agree and so said, "OK, we got it wrong, we'll change it, how about this?" I struggle to see why anyone would want to try to paint this as a bad thing, it certainly doesn't suggest arrogance or disregard for what gamers want to me, more the opposite. /shrug

On reflection I can see how if they annoyed someone with the original **** up announcement and you'd declared for PS4 as a two fingers up to MS you could see it the other way though I suppose.
