Outlast - New horror game

I love the look of this, been keeping my eye on for a while.
But i WILL NOT be playing, looks far too scary for me:eek:
Would love to watch people playing it though if anyone on here is streaming?

Mate, get it lol. It's gonna last me months as I can only do 15 minutes at a time! lol

The feeling of character control is great. Reminds me of mirrors edge like you're actually the person. The looking behind while running, peeking around corners and leaping over stuff.
It all feels really well done and smooth. Yes it's scary/creepy, It gave me chills down my back a few times.

Just discovered it seems to work well with 3D vision too. Not sure I could handle playing it with that. Will stick to 2D for now :p

I have a quick video from tonight, will play more later on but how does one stream it, which apps do people use?

Hmm it seems as though it's running U3! From Eurogamer:

It's utterly essential in a game such as this though otherwise it shatters the illusion. The game's visuals are also very good too, something I wasn't expecting when I found out it was using Unreal Engine 3 (plus it supports the Xbox 360 controller... yeah!!!).

I use Open Broadcaster for Streaming but I can't stream with my **** connection!

Msi Afterburner for recording but how do I show my webcam footage :(

Just played for about 10 minutes only to realize my body was stiff the entire time. I think it is the bass sound that comes on when NV is equipped, it really is a brilliant mood setter.

Well, I have to say in some respects I am pleasantly surprised, as has been mentioned the sensation of actually feeling like you are controlling a real human being is impressive, I feel less like a floating camera than in most games, also it does look very nice.

Is it scary? Not so much, oh there are great moments but the game lacks any sort of consistent atmosphere which I think is due to the setting, it is just too recognisable and familiar. It feels kinda of over produced which I think is the reason I don't find it scary, too many set pieces and action segments. Also I find the amount of character animations and cut-scene like events really dulled any fear I had rather than intensified it, Amnesia scared me witless because of it's simplicity, you interacted with the world directly, anything that happened happened because YOU the player willed it to happen, from opening a door to peaking out of a closet or igniting a bomb, if an enemy caught you it killed you, it give you a chance to run and hide again.

Let me finish by saying that I am certainly not saying no one should be scared or feel fear when playing this game, just that it doesn't push my particularly fear buttons.

Just finished it. Fantastic game, and a great experience. Good story, too, and it comes together well at the end.

Took almost 5 hours, all in.

One thing I noticed is that the timer on your camera counts up every time you take it out. Maybe this will be used in the XBOX One/PS4 release so you can share your own "found footage" film with others once completed?
