Hi all,
Im looking at the H80i to cool my 3770k CPU. Has anyone any experience of this heatsink? It appears to come well reccomended. Is there anything else that might be better? I intend to fit it in HAF932 or HAFX case (havent decided which one yet but have posted in the case section, will edit link later). I see any problems with that at all.

Any help appriecated.

The thing that makes all all in one noisey is the pump, if it rattles its noisey, if not its silent. Its a risk..

Personally id go for a big air cooler. The silver arrow extreme or the k2 would be my choice. :)

Thanks for the reply mate, I will look into it.

I went for the h110 for my 3770k, keeps a 4.6ghz non-delidded chip around 60c under load.

Cheers for the info mate. There are so many products out there for heatsinks. It seems that there isnt a real market leader in heatsinks for this socket. Just need to have a good look around. I will let you know how I get on.

Just a bit of info,in my antec 300 case,my H80 runs about 3*c cooler on slowest fan setting than my previous 212 cooler, not much i know but a 4.3ghz oc runs about 70*c after 30mins of prime

212 isn't even clost to NH-D14. No way no how. :D

Thanks for the info. I really like the look of the NH-D14 but I am worried about the size of this beast. It will be going a HAFX case but some people have said it can block ram and graphics cards etc. Im not sure if I need something as serious as this since Im not planning to overclock.

Thanks the H80 could be an option I will look into it.

CM HAF X should have plenty of clearance for any cooler. The bigger cooler do block slot #1, to top most of 7 Pci slots, which is normally not a problem as slot#2 is usually first GPU slot. Ram less than 45mm tall usually fits under cooler and 120mm front fan... 35mm ram under 140mm fan.. of course this is assume case had enough CPU clearance (170mm).

I prefer air to CLC. Air is as cool, quieter, usually cheaper and more dependable.. no pump to fail. Pump fails you have to replace cooler to use system. Fan fails on 2 fan air cooler it still works, if only one fan you can strap any fan on and keep using system while you get replacement fan.

Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 is a very good cooler.

Thanks a lot, I agree with you. I would much prefer an air cooler that could do the job. I think I'm going for the dark rock. It seems to do really do a good job. I can get a rough idea of size buy looking at my motherboard before I order it. I don't have case as I will order at the same time but the case shouldn't be a problem. Cheers.
