Green Tea

I find it funny how western people drink it as a health drink whereas in the far east it is consumed as any beverage, actually perceived like water.

Thirsty? How about some tea ? (referring to green tea, or black tea – no milk !)

Go to a restaurant, the waiter will ask what kind of tea you like, it is what you drink with your food. You can of course ask for beer or juice but tea is the de-facto choice.

You can buy all kinds of tea, bottled, like you can like coke in every corner shop.

I know it is full of anti-oxidents but that was never a reason to drink it for me. At work people drink green tea because of these benefits, then they go eat cake…or even have a smoke. Eh?

This is the best post :)

I drink chilled Japanese Green Tea most days (take a flask to work). Get it from the Mount Fuji online store.

I started by drinking bottles of tea all the time when I was in Japan but now tend to drink it instead of soft drinks in general. I drink it chilled as I don't like hot drinks.

Why do you find something that is obviously cultural so funny? There are several parts of the Western culture/lifestyle that are unhealthy, and indeed vice versa, and as we learn from other cultures some of us adopt and change.

Why do we drink water like...well water? Because part of our cultural heritage was clean and safe drinkable water.

I find the drinking it for health benefits side the strangest.

Drink it because you like it, don't drink it because its like medicine. And then go have a smoke.

I keep trying green tea. Never been particularly happy with it so far.

Been trying various ones from Postcard Tea in London or Waterloo Tea in Cardiff.

I get YamaMotoYama sencha loose, or their premium tea bags are good as well..you can get sencha or matcha in their bags range

A load of the people I was working on a research project with used to drink it.

"Do you want some green tea"

No I'll stick with my quadruple espresso with 2 sugars thanks, rot my stomach and blacken my teeth baby!

I just get the Twinnings green tea. usually try different flavors they have.

Got mint at the moment and its quite nice.

I started when I was told I have high cholesterol, cut coffee out completely. Drink coffee again now but drink a green tea in the morning
