2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 6/7/10 September *** Spoilers ***

First England game I've watched in a couple of years as I'm stuck out in a vessel for work, Moldova are poor but England do look quite slick.

Wilshire especially looks great and Lambert fits right in.

Lambert reminds me of Teddy Sheringham...no pace, great touch and vision and good in the air. He would fit in to most teams. Though he started late, I hope he has a decent length career at this level(can't see him starting much though tbh). Definitely a good player to have in the squad.

I think it says a lot for the interest in the England team when even OcUK Sports Arena doesn't do goal updates

We watching the same game? England look slick?

1. Look at how isolated our players on the ball are. Where are the little triangles? When the defenese or midfield get the ball, the midfield or forwards start to sprint up the pitch (mindlessly). If the player in possession doesn't immediately hoof it upfield, he finds there is nobody close to him except the opposition. But don't worry, he will hoof it upfield, and then we'll lose possession. Basic, basic stuff.

2. How many times do we try to play long, straight passes, directly forwards? Almost all the time! It's so predictable. Because of 1. these passes are in the air 50% of the time, instead of on the ground. And 85% of the time these passes get cut out. It's easy to read, and easy to stop.

Also, it's good to see Welbeck carry on his very solid England scoring record. Think he gets way more stick than he deserves.

:D He's done one run and nothing else.

This may come as a shock but not everything a player does has to appear on a highlight reel for them to be effective  I know that may be a shock but trust me its true.

Watch him and you can see his quality through his touch, vision and range of passing.
