Hi guys.

I've got a car air freshener. The type that hangs off your vents.

Its running out and I wanted to use aftershave I own. However last time I tried it disappeared within a day or two. I believe they use oil scents hence the issue.

Is there anything I can add to it to make it less volatile like the original one?

Thanks.

Ash.

You could try mixing it with vegetable glycerine to thicken it up. No idea if that would work though!

Have you actually tried this? Its GD hence I have to question it :D

Where would I find this? I've never heard of it.

Most supermarkets would stock it. It's used in ecigarettes, which is how I became aware of it. Could be too thick to evaporate depending on how your air freshener works. Maybe propylene glycol instead. I honestly have no idea how these will function in your air freshener, because an ecig heats them up quite hot.

Its one of those and the car is a Audi A4 B7 so you're looking at maximum 28-30 degrees Celsius output temperature on the vents.

Which sounds like it may not be hot enough. I wonder if the WD40 trick is a good one.

Wonder if you could add some of the vapers stuff to these and addict the occupant to nicotine in a subversive manner?

:)
Tobacco companies have possibly had the idea already.

No, the heat required to atomise the liquids in ecigs would be way more than the heat from a vent.
