So you have finished your 9-5 job for the day, now.. how do you motivate and drag yourself to the gym?

I personally stick the gym playlist on and remissness about all the people who have angered me at work on the drive there.... It works..

How about you guys?

Working towards specific goals / bettering performance relative to the plan / past performance makes me WANT to go the gym. The whole reason most people find exercise a chore is because they approach it aimlessly - if you need motivation then you should probably be asking yourself why you go in the first place. I have to get up at 5:50am, work 8am-8pm and then train after that. Am I tired? Yes. Do I look forward to going? Yes.

Why do you need to motivate yourself to do something enjoyable?

Don't get me wrong i love the Gym and striving for my perception of a good physique, have for years.

But what about those days where you're absolutely drained, mentally & physically and just feel like going home couching it and ordering a pizza... how do you stay head strong and get your ass in the gym.. and hit it hard.

Do you just whack the headphones in and get on with it, watch some CT Fletcher for motivation... you know, that kind of thing.

I struggle, I always put it back like ok so il do this this and this and then go to the gym, often its then to late or I cant be bothered and I just did them things lol

That I don't want to look like a fat guy with no muscles no appeal, gives bad impressions at interviews and to people if your out of shape and fat people have a strain on the nhs, that's my motivation.

I don't need the motivation, 9-5 is no time at all. I needed motivation when I was working 12+ hr days, but I'd just take out all my anger out on the iron.

I go before work, love the 6.30am sessions, need to motivate my self for work but that's another story.
