I don't get it:
underneath that modified Radeon HD 6670 GPU, lies a 175 mm^2 space for something. That something is presumed to be a Volcanic Islands based AMD with..."
What's an AMD? AMD are the manufacturer! Why would a brand new GPU be next to an older GPU? They won't crossfire or work together.
"This GPU - combined with the modified Radeon HD 6670 - could make the Xbox One a graphical powerhouse." Again, they're both GPUs? and Again, They won't play nice together?
Unless the 6670 is got physics only?
In the realm of purely theoretical the big GPU would be disabled when you were using the console for stuff like social, watching movies, booting up/general OS then swap over to the big GPU when actually gaming (kind of like AMD Enduro) - would make sense to use something like a 6670 for this as it would allow for HD movie acceleration and enhancements.
The PS4 is using an ARM chip for the OS and such I doubt they would put a 6670 equivalent just for that.

woot! - ARM chip? - if it was I think my Samsung S4 would give it competition![]()
I reckon so. It even has a volcano on it, how can it be fake?Davey I think that excellent graph answers your question. Hats off Craterloads!
