*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Could be interesting considering the Unreal engine will power many next gen games including some blockbusters. 50% advantage on the PS4 side would be huge for multi plats.

I wouldnt necessarily think hes referring to UE4 powered games, nor just limited to that if it was...

EDIT: Add in the normal caveat that 50% metrics doesnt mean 50% performance difference!

he mentions all the devs he's talked to, so will be more than just UE4 but from reading elsewhere I think he got a connection with the unreal team, cant really remember to be honest and cant be bothered looking up.

Edit: But if it is as he says engines are running significantly better, upto 50%, then that would be huge.

Of course hes got a connection to the Unreal team, he was very much involved with Bulletstorm and GOW:J (ex PCF bloke), I just read that as non-descript and that its not actually referring to anything specific about UE4...

I think you need to make friends in the other thread! Your joke backfired somewhat ;)

EDIT: Ive not attempted to trace his whole conversation, but take it all with a big pinch of salt regards to exactly what is 50% faster and what that means as an end result...

Just pre ordered the ps4, charging dock and the new stand :)

I didn't think i would ever buy a console again, but looking forward to this:)

So according to amazon playstation 4 games are going to cost between £42 and £47.

Is it just me that finds this crazy when the pc versions are £30?

ill probably only get killzone for a launch game since Driveclub is free with ps+ and get everything else like BF4, Watchdogs ect on the PC.
Any idea how much PS4 games are going to be on the PS store...especially if you have the ps+ membership?

It is a bit annoying. Publishers/devs say it's because of increased development cost but with both consoles basically being PC's then surely the cost won't be that much more? Really it should cost less as they can develop for PC first and then only slightly change for the X1 or PS4.

The two games im looking forward to the most at are Killzone SF & Warframe.i will pick up bf3 also & obviously like most have ps+ which contains driveclub also.

KZSF is shaping up to be good from what i have seen with custom warzones on the fly and free dlc maps whats not to like :) not seen any mention of mobile spawns like kz2:confused:
i just hope we get some more footage of the mp setups before release.

Optimisation and a huge license fee wont help the costs for consoles.

Think its being implied that its news additional to the Japan and Asia launch dates. Starts at 7am, wonder if everything MS has done since Gamescom might motivate Sony...

I wouldn't say crazy, just normal now. Console games have always been more expensive for as long as I can remember.

I don't think that £30 or £40 or even £50 is expensive for games when you consider £/per hour of entertainment. I still don't like paying that much for games sometimes :p.
