Ok he's old and had a 10yr plasma SD 300-400w draw and freeview box. It broke the box. TV works but still old and I came across LG screen that's a smart TV with wifi.

Has apps. It's 1080p and bleeding good. All he thinks is the tellytext - how old is that?

ANyway my Tesco mob gimmie btwithfon. I wanted to get it online (not sure on usernames) and let him use that.

Hes a simple person whod rather 3x 40w b22 light bulbs for a pound than a newer one that lasts and costs less. Getting energy light bulbs from old ones was hard but this tv is 40-50w!!!

Are there good old people apps?? maybe setup online banking.

His house is FULL of statements and letters that is too personal to bin yet he is to tight to shred it. You get used to changes, he uses text for football so replace with apps?

Dual core android, I need to explain it easy as he (needs a DIGITAL tv) remember. LOL

My mum is close to buying a cheap lcd for about 280-300 720p. Just leave the dam extras! I say.

He unclicks the fuse board (lights,wall sockets) unless he needs them. He lives in 1950 or something were fires start because a router was idle when we went on holiday.

Yeah that's it, I don't use it. He calls it that and moans "only get tellytext on 1"

Maybe a uni remote? prog - + and vol and power? maybe with fav chan and just put in all his channels so its easy?

He reads news and football results on red button/tt replace them with apps?

I have a Samsung very similer. one inch bigger and its not smart but ihe interface he perfered then offer a swap? I have a server/htpc so smart may be useless to me
 
Maybe a easy way to turn off the screen? and have it jump to 50 vol? when he leaves he puts on a radio which plays god aweful sound as he thinks it may stop people breaking in. Even uses rope to secure doors

if I use bt open thing. What is my login and pw?? I get a gig with Tesco? Which do I click?

He wants to reuse the stand from the plasma for this new TV I aint sure it would fit also what about if he sold it (can you?) as we've one too and the stand might make or brake a sale. 50gbp? or goto a charity!! but insted of a 40gbp CORNER stand (this is in the corner) I saw online that was nice and there was a matching coffee table then I remembered - he does not have a coffee table he has 2 wooden squares of wood he superglued with a wood pole to hold a mug of tea. I must add he's alone. We visit when we can

He's very tight yet has a good bit of money worked on ships, so I try to get him to buy stuff to enjoy life. He's very "why get 100mb internet, when this works *modem dialup sound plays 56k*.

ANYWAY, I might go down later and see if I get him online a bit or DNLA my mob. Or take my lg430 and hotspot rape it (suck da internets) and show him TELETEXT ANDROID APP, I loled - his LG smarty world is android based so I CAN in theory give him teletext maybe someone has teletext 2 that's in HD.

Anyone got LG Smart? Theres a lot on the screen and butttons so maybe it can be confusing to older people - what about mods, apps? for old people LOL.

just hope I can get him online as he'd be too stingy to fork over for a PAYG (10er a gig) or summit

I said before but its funny as hell - he leaves home and puts on a radio thats battery powered from 1960 and its AWFUL Quality it's like a 32x32 icon fullscreen it stops people breaking in because they hear that. IMO Id do thhe oppersite, (either take offence or leavemoney)

Ok sorted his TV on stand, gunna try and setup net access BTFON as my mobile allows it and I've never used it.

and would you believe it theres an app just like teletxt lol

Now old 42 inch plasmas sd ones how much are they worth ? 50gbp?
