Disneyland Paris

Paris is great in as much as everything is closer together and so you aren't walking all day as you are in Florida. The French are fine if you make the effort and try to at least learn to say hello and goodbye. As soon as you say that in French they automatically switch to English anyway.
I stayed at the Davy Crockett Ranch which was ok and was close to the park. Imagine a big static caravan made up to look like a log cabin.
I'd go back, which surprised me, although I preferred Florida.

See, the missus and I won't go back. We don't have kids, but plan to go to Florida when we do and they are the right age.

Everything is more managed in Florida. There are proper queues for characters, Paris is just a scrum and quite chaotic. Lots of queue jumping for rides too.

Yes magic kingdom is more spread out, but that does mean it is easier to get from a to b and not as manic.

The rides in Florida seem better and more maintained. They are also more themed. Take Aerosmith rock roller coaster. There is a long video explaining the ride and what's happening. Paris cuts this down to 20 seconds. On the 3 days we went to the park at Paris, music wasn't working on any of them, and the ride itself was inferior to Florida. It does suffer from trying to be too multilingual at times and catering for its wide audience.

I just can't put in to words how much better Florida is. The experience is amazing.

Paris we left disappointed and don't think we will go back.

I've done Orlando 3 times (due to be 4 on Friday!), and Paris twice.

Paris is fine (and about 1/3rd of the cost), just go outside of peak holiday season. We went in October last year and queued for literally nothing. No queues for the bus to the parks, no queues for the rides, no queues for the restaurants in Disney Village. It's not quite got the magic or wonder of the Florida installation, but for the price (and depending on the children's age, the suitability, Orlando in my opinion isn't as well suited to younger children), it was a great getaway. If you do go, take the train, there is literally no other decent way of getting there that isn't a complete faff!

i remember going when i was 14. i went on a train ride, not sure what film it was from but my only memory of it was there was a timber pillar that came dangerously close to peoples head on one particular bend. surprised nobody had their head taken off.

That "timber" pillar was made from sponge , the ride was runaway train or something like that. Wasn't dangerous at all :D

Sounds Ideal. :p

As was said.
Save a bit more and go to Florida.
Better food, service, infrastructure and most importantly - weather.

And if you ever get fed up with the Disney bit - you have a whole state full of theme parks and interesting other things to do...... (unlike France - which is full of frogs, snails & French people ;)

Plus going to Florida with kids involves the best part of a day travelling with kids including the 9 odd hours in a tin can with bored children.

Having just done 1.5hrs with a 5 and 3 yr old just to Spain I can confirm there is no way I'd be looking forward too

At least an hour in a cab
Three hours in an airport minimum
Nine hours flight
An hour picking up baggage
Another final hour in transfers

All without any delays

As people have said, Skip Paris and go Florida.

Been many times and even on the cruises and everywhere else just doesn't compare after you've been.

Mother and Sister are out there at the moment staying right next to the Magic Kingdom (Bay Lake Towers).

I've been to Disney Paris twice and Orlando 3 times. Paris is so much better, although only for the Magic Kingdom bit.

Really??

Certainly not my experience.

Paris is so expensive, 4 days there in a decent hotel was extremely expensive compared with a two week Orlando holiday when you consider how much more is over there, how much longer you'd have etc.

Plus no frenchies :D

paradigm looks like you are flying out same day as me
I am on virgin from Manchester 11 am hope my kids are awake enough to go to the special event unleash the villains in Hollywood studios

But loads of hispanic/mexicans.

Who doesn't love a friendly mexican?

:D

I've also been to both, go to Florida it's no contest the flight is not that bad if you have in flight entertainment. Just watch two films, brush up on your tetris through in the two in flight meals and you have arrived.

I've been to Disneyland Paris a few times and stayed at some of the Disney hotels (Hotel New York 4*) and (Newport Bay Club 3*), however I actually much prefered the cheaper selected hotel (Kyriad 2*) which you have to catch a shuttle bus to.

Depending on how long you're going for, it might be worth getting an annual pass as I think you get discount at shops and restaurants as well.

We went last year for 5 nights and stayed in the Santa fe hotel. It's only a 10 minute to the main park.

Hotels was ok. Nothing special but to be honest we weren't there much. Breaksfast was awful though. Worse than school dinners but tbh everyone's in a rush to get out.

Our visit came with meals included but there are only certain places you can go and you are best off putting your name down early in the day otherwise you'll have a long wait. Lunch is a little complicated. You'll see bands of prices and you'll only be entitled to the bands you have paid for otherwise it's expensive.

As for the rides, queues weren't too bad.. No where near as bad as Throrpe park or Alton Towers.

We had a good great time and my little lad loved it but wouldn't go back.

Why do people keep doing this? :)

Magic Kingdom in Paris is better than Magic Kingdom in Orlando. Still, would I recommend Paris>Orlando, not at all. Orlando has so much more to offer and is just better altogether, although a little bit more dated.

I stayed in the city and travelled to Disney (as I do in the US), so can't really compare the price with Disney hotels included.

And as said above, I prefer French people any day to the horrible hispanics you get in Florida. Although not all are bad, one Brazilian family in particular this year were the worse people I have ever experienced..
