Anyone have this? Asus SonicMaster MX239H

EDIT: PCM2 are there any screens you know of that are a bit cheaper but match this for pure good looks and nice thin bezels?

The other alternatives to this using the same panel are the LG IPS237L, AOC i2367Fh and AOC i2369Vm and HP 23xi. They may be cheaper but I think that subjectively speaking they can't match the overall aesthetics of the ASUS (the stand design and bottom bezel in particular). ASUS are actually launching the 'VX9' series shortly which I've just published a news article about on my website. This may drive down the price of the MX239H or offer a cheaper alternative.

I'm considering this monitor purely for the built-in speakers.

Now I'm aware this is very subjective, but are the speakers capable enough for gaming and internet radio when sitting close to monitor? About a meter away.

I know this is an old thread but I'm bumping it as I'm thinking of buying one (And it saves making a new thread)

Have you guys had any issues in terms of backlight bleed/stuck pixels?

I'm glad to hear the overall impression of the monitor is excellent!

I've had mine for 6 months and its faultless. No bleeding or stuck pixels.

Couldn't recommend it more to be honest.
Only minor gripe is its a shame the whole screen doesn't actually 'fill' the whole front if that makes sense. A good 2/3cm left/top/right from edge.

The monitor came today. It's beautiful but what a shame.

That's rather severe! How noticeable is it during normal use, movies, games, and the like?

I'm looking to order on this coming week.

I just pretty much noticed it on any blacks and it wasn't really noticeable during normal use however I did return it straight away. It was a real shame because the monitor is fantastic.

I do have a brand new replacement arriving tomorrow so I will test it out straight away and report back with my results. I am aware that no monitor will be completely free of backlight bleed but I just hope the replacement has minimal bleed... I really want to settle on a monitor now, especially this one.

It would also be nice if other owners of the monitor could comment on if they've got backlight bleeding issues to. :)

Let us know guys!

Awful bleeding all over the monitor again.

If you weren't buying one due to the speakers then try an AOC i2367 or something like that (don't know exactly what model is the 23" version of mine) or an i2757fh, I've got 3 of the 27" versions and none of them have back light bleeding.

The only bad thing about the AOC is trailing/ghosting. That's the only thing that lets that monitor down.

Can't say I've noticed any ghosting, regularly play payday 2, csgo and watch movies on them. That said in all the monitors i've ever used, i've never seen it apart from on the most basic cheapo junk i've used at work, so maybe i just don't notice it as much as other users might.

Still, no backlight bleed though :p

Again? Going to try another one? Or move to a different monitor?

I'm not going to get another replacement. I don't know if it's because the panel is so slim because when even a little bit of pressure is applied on the sides of the monitor, the back light bleed becomes even more apparent.

It looks like I'm stuck now, I literally have no idea which one to go for instead.

Hmm, I looked at the AOC i2367fh, and most places state you can tell it's a budget IPS monitor, not that big an improvement over TN. While others state it's really good.

It's significantly cheaper though. Which does kind of make me wonder about the quality. Personally I want a narrow bezel/aluminium monitor and the Asus fit the bill. Kinda put my order on hold yesterday after I saw you had the same issues again.

Here's a TFTCentral review of the AOC i2757fh
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/aoc_i2757fm.htm

Very good overall, and if the 23" is the same it might be a good buy at it's low price.

Edit: I just found the HP Pavilion 23xi, looks interesting. I'll have to check a good few reviews first.

Hi, I made an account here because I too really wanted the Asus MX239H, but after what happened to you, I am not so sure I want to risk that "/. Please update if you do find a good monitor.

Hey Timnswede, I decided to go with the HP pavilion 23xi, so once that arrives I'll let you know what I think of it.

EDIT: NVM, just got an email saying they listed the stock wrong, and they don't have the monitor I ordered. They won't have it in stock again either. :(

I'll have to see what I can find after they refund me.
