Hello,

Just wondering if you fine gentlemen could spec me an Eyefinity rig.
Budget of around £2500-3000 including the monitors.

Main use will be for multi-tasking/rendering with cad and photoshop. Would also like it to have enough grunt to max out Planetside 2!

Thanks :D

this is a little over budget but it is a starting point for you

YOUR BASKET
2 x MSI GeForce GTX 780 PCI-Express 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £499.99 (£999.98)
1 x Samsung 500GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE500BW) £278.99
1 x Intel Core i7-3820 3.60GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor - Retail £259.99
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit (TXD332G2133HC11QC-L) £239.99
3 x Asus VE278N 27" Widescreen LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £199.99 (£599.97)
1 x Seasonic X-Series 1050w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £179.99
1 x Gigabyte X79-UD3 Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3 Motherboard £169.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit - OEM (GLC-01844) £143.99
1 x Xigmatek Elysium Full Tower Case - Black/Silver £129.95
2 x Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD20EZRX) HDD £76.99 (£153.98)
Total : £3,177.05 (includes shipping : £16.85).

I have gone with the x79 platform as this is the general workstation setup with an upgrade path and is has the capability for loads of ram and better sli.

32gb of memory may be over kill but for rendering and editing with large filters and the like it helps.

2 epic gpus which will beats all tasks.

Big 500gb ssd for fast performance and total of 4tb of storage on hdds.

And finally 3 27" monitors which gives you loads of real estate.

You can always down grade some pieces but eyefinity workstation with your budget is achievable.

And yes it will totally kill ps2

Good luck!

No cooling for th CPU. Not even retail CPU's come with a heatsink.

Ivy-E, 32Gb of RAM and dual GTX770's should have more power then you could wave a stick at.

Oh and +1 for the first person to spec an Ivybridge-E CPU :D
