Yeah, i tried that when i had it in my system. He uses hdmi and i used dvi. Wish he had bought it from here so it would be 10x easier to explain to ocuk customer service. Lesson learned for himDo you think he should RMA it to the retailer again, or take the hit on p&p and go straight to Gigabyte? Luckily I've not had to go through RMA process before.
I think that's the problem when you deal with 'box shifters'.
If the card is outwith the DSR period it might be worth biting the bullet and dealing with Gigabyte directly. Whilst I've not had to deal with them they do seem to be regarded to be one of the best for warranty support and being UK based have a quick turnaround. Whilst your friend may get lucky with ****** (providing links to vids & as much info as poss may help some) if they decide 'no fault' again he'd be out of pocket for postage and still stuck with a card that isn't fit for purpose.
Out of interest how long ago did he buy the card? I looked at the retailer's website and they are quoting a card ref of GV-R787OC-2GD* for the WF7870 and there is a revised bios on GB's website for that model: http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4154&dl=1#bios
Of course if it's the GV-R787WF3-2GD version then you're out of luck
(*only mentioning this as GB's search function can be a bit funky)
