£100 max for mobile

I have to get a new mobile as my current one is kaput!

I only have £100 max.

I don't use the Internet on the mobile or email really. I have mostly used mobiles with keypads. I don't want a tacky phone though.

I have looked at the Nokia Lumia 520 but not sure.

Can you guys recommend a decent mobile for under £100? Having a decent camera is good but not a deal killer.

It must be PAYG as I am on Giffgaff.

Also, do Phones 4 U and Carphonewarehouse both sell unlocked phones?

Good call on the 520 if you like Windows :-) (I've not used Windows Phone heavily so I can't really comment).

Android, check out the ZTE Blade V. You'll have to get it from a Virgin Media shop and 20% off if you know someone with virgin broadband/tv., and it will cost you £15.20 to unlock, but it's one heck of a budget phone :-)
 
CPW phones are unlocked. Got my mum a Lumia 520, impressive bit of kit for the price, unthinkable value a year or two ago. WP8 is very good too, but lacks the app ecosystem of Apple and Android (probably always will)

It's not just that, well it sort of is. Any phone around this price point will only have around 512mb of RAM. However Windows Phone is very well optimised for this amount of RAM whereas Android is not.
 
I'd recommend the 520, I have just replaced my dad's Samsung Galaxy Ace with it and he is over the moon.
 
You won't go wrong with the 520, all I here is how amazed people are with them.

Apparently all wp8 phones have a 36 month update cycle too. Sounds good to me. Camera isn't great but takes OK pictures, no flash though. OS is slick but most apps are fairly rubbish. Fb for example. Still recommend though.
 
I would add support to the 520, I love my HTC 8X and the windows OS. For under 100 you cant beat that.

I would also recommend a used 8X they can be picked up for about £80 now but totally understand if you would prefer new.
 
What is average battery life like on the 520? I know it depends on usage just wondering what to expect.
 
Lot of texting, 10 minute phone call, occasional browse on Facebook. It's not terrible, just nothing great.
 
6hrs extremly heavy use
8hrs gps trakcing + music, screen off most of the time.
24hrs light use.
Max I've had is 1day14hrs.

The small battert is its weakest point. But i'm used to charging smart phones constantly. Van chargers, charges at work, get in, striaght on charge. Same wikth the iphone I had before.
