Hi,

I have the bitfenix shinobi. It has slots for 2 fans at the bottom, but I was wondering how much of an effect they would even have. The case has small stands on the bottom to raise the case up a fraction so it is not on the ground, but I really doubt it lifts it up enough to get good suction from the bottom.

Are the little stands that lift it up a few mm good enough to put a fan in the bottom? (whilst on carpet, the case has mesh filters on the bottom)

If not, how far would I need to raise each corner for it to make a difference?

Thanks

The case has 1 optional fan at the bottom the other is the intake for the psu. If your carpet touches the filters then i would be slightly concerned there would not be adequate flow to the psu.

I wouldn't say it touches the carpet, but its damn near close.

Is there any sort of small stand I can buy that can prop it up a little. If not i'll just find some wood and build my own.

my ghetto top tip is to put bottle caps under the feet to get another .75cm off the carpet. Or head to Maplins etc and buy bigger rubber feet.

Good idea, i'll put some bottle caps under there when I get home from work. Or maybe a book at the front and back to prop it up a bit.

Take four play blocks from some little kid and put them under it. :D

I use a caster base:

A fan in the bottom of the shinobi cases helps a good bit as theres virtually zero front air intake. On a carpeted floor you can place a flat thin peice of wood under the case. This will help cut down on dust intake. To raise it a bit higher use two peices of 4x2 timber and place theese under the case feet.

Ok, i'm now propping the case up about an inch.

I have 1 fan at the bottom (not including PSU) as intake, 1 at the front as intake (but that wont do much die to the front panel design) back and top are exhaust.

Very quiet and getting a temperature i'm happy with now :)
