Mrs rjk has a 2001 Clio. Currently it has an immobiliser issue that from my reading seems to be common on that model.
fault goes like this:
This has been slowly getting worse and she is looking to sell soon so it needs fixing really as any potential buyer will be put off.
it does it on both keys
I have seen things like immobiliser bypass modules etc but this would obviously invalidate insurance.
am i right in thinking its going to be a specialist/main dealer thing or has anyone here had a similar issue and resolved it easily?

- unlock car
- sit in car and turn key
- immobiliser will not allow key to start car
- i get a phone call
- car starts after a long period of time messing around turning the key etc.
