Asus P5WD2 Premium drivers for win8

Hi, this might be a stupid question but am I right in thinking that the Asus P5WD2 Premium MB doesn't support Win8.

If it doesn't, is there anyway round it.

Which specific drivers are you looking for? The closest to W8 drivers you'll get from that Asus link are Vista drivers.

Hi Thanks, I'm going to do a clean install of win8 using that MB so I would need most,....I think

or do I

I was going for Chipset, Lan, Audio, Sata. Would I need any more? Do you think those Vista 64bit drivers will work for Win8?

I would get the drivers you might need from the manufacturer's sites - ie: Intel, Realtek, etc.

That's an oldish motherboard, it may not accept the latest Intel RST drivers for SATA and may only take v11.7 or below. Download all the versions of Intel RST that you can for W8 here - then just work your way down to the latest one that works.

With Windows installed with the latest RST drivers, install the chipset drivers. Be aware these sometimes overwrite the RST drivers, so have the above RST drivers ready to reinstall.

It'd also be a good idea to have the driver for your onboard network ready, as sometimes Windows doesn't have the preinstalled drivers for them. There seems to two or three choices of NICs according to your Asus link, which one are you using? If possible, please provide model number of the NIC too (found in Device Manager).

Thanks darael, so much for your help. I don't have the PC with the Asus MB just yet so cant say about the NIC but will find out.

Wondering would this a good place to start.

Personally I wouldn't waste my time with that. You can usually find the drivers you need with the help of Google.

There isn't anything worth install in this PC, just a graphic card and two harddrives, then a printer, thats about it.

In the PC network Adapters I see:

Intel (R) PRO/1000 PL network connection
and below it
Marvell 88E8001

UPDATE: thanks darael for your help but I was thinking I should buy a new MB and be finished, it might be the best option in case I run into driver problems.
