Hello,

Well it's time to start looking for a new car and thought I'd see if you lot had any good ideas. :p

The want list:
Not too slow (8 seconds or less to 60?)
Tax band K or lower
30ish MPG combined would be nice but not essential, I do less then 6k miles a year and work is only 5 miles away
Reasonably comfortable (I'm coming from a VX220, a decent seat, heater and the ability to hear radio 2/3/4 is a dream!)
Reasonably practical (options to transport a road bike or 2 would be useful)
Decent headlights (xenons) would be appreciated
RWD is preferred
Ideally 2007 or newer
Not diesel (or at least not a diesel that has a DPF)
Budget: £10k max. Would prefer a bit less though.

Things that have caught my attention:
e92 325i/330i coupe manual (not sure if an auto suits the car? but they are a lot more common)
The latest Z4 - too expensive and doubt it would take a bike either.
M135i on PCP - ideally would like to stay out of finance until I've finished my house refurb project
And to even further annoy Fox, an 2009 S4 estate. Too expensive still
Oh and even more out of budget, the latest Jaguar XF. Stunning!

Clearly I'm not too get at specing myself a car so I've made this thread!

Thanks.

Octavia VRS? Just another one to consider (I know not RWD).

I'd probs be looking at a 330i touring personally with those requirements.

Forgot about the Alfa. Saw a newish one the other day and it was niceeeeeeeee.

Sadly, I don't think the XF will be within your requirements.....
3.0 V6 petrol is tax band L, and even the cheapest I saw from a quick autotrader search come in around £12k. That said, as a recent purchaser of one (albeit a 3.0D XF S), have to say they are fabulous cars :D

I wasn't seriously suggesting a XF is for me, I want the 2012 one and it is well out of budget.

The only car on that list in budget is the 3 series.
