*** iPhone 5S/5C - September 10th ***

You are assuming I am taking the contract out each year myself lol

My wife also has an iphone, as does my mum. The contracts end at different times, and they always ask me to look for the best deal.

The funny thing is, my workmate told me he was getting an iphone 5. Found him a fantastic deal, yet he still went into town and took out a silly deal at £41 a month  oh well

First of all I didn't assume anything. I am trying to help you understand why they may be confused. As for you telling Steedie to go elsewhere, he contributes a hell of a lot more to this forum than you do, just go look in Sports Arena.

And if you can't see how the way you worded that may come across as you saying you get a new iPhone every year for free for £26 a month then you're blind.

Within 5 mins I found the following deal

iPhone 5 32GB
O2 refresh plan
Unlimited talk, txt and 1GB Data

£25 a month
Phone £89.99 with £120 cashback through quidco

I am looking for this deal you mention but am unable to locate it - can you tell me which site is offering it please? The wife may be interested.

EDIT - if it includes multiple redemptions she may be rather less interested.

It's ok,

I'll let people find their own deals in future

This one would appear to be the Scarlet Pimpernel of deals because it doesn't seem to exist. I was genuinely interested in it, but as you've evidently made a mistake in the 'deal' you've found, you're trying to save face by adopting an 'I don't care any more' attitude.

sorry, I thought you said you weren't interested in deals where you reclaim cashback like from quidco

a good starting place to find a good deal

hotukdeals
mobiles.co.uk
quidco (click on the mobile section and see who are offernig cashback)

If you let me know what you want (memory, colour, network, data) I'll have a look

Fair enough he helps in the Sports Area, but OCUK can do without people acusing others of lieing

1) You come out with this ridiculous claim that you get some deal every year.
2) People ask where you got it from and/or accuse you of lying.
3) You back peddle so hard.

What do you expect? The way you worded it how is anyone going to know you meant for your family?

Also when people have asked you where you got it from you haven't shown them and having looked on O2 Refresh I can't find anything like what you're saying.

Also seeming as the phone is £549 from Apple and that 26*24 is 624 you're telling me you're getting 24 months worth of unlimited texts, minutes and 1GB of data for £75? Which works out at £3.12 a month.

K.

but OCUK can do without people acusing others of lieing

And that part in particular, so we should all just trust each other and assume every thing on this website is not a lie. lol.

Look I don't doubt you're getting these deals, they seem unlikely but possible but the way you worded it how can you not see that it made you look like you were getting a new iPhone every year for £26 a month.

Correct, I find the same deal each year. Deals come and go all the time. In fact there is a similar one on with mobiles.co.uk (no idea about cashback) and phones4u (£50 cashback). There is also someone doing £125 cashback via Quidco but can't remember who now.

2) People ask where you got it from and/or accuse you of lying.

You're right about that. I've posted a few pics from my account and looking through my emails. It was a year ago and my gmail is a bit of a mess :p

3) You back peddle so hard.

I have?

The deal I am on now...and I'll say it again

Phones4U
iPhone 5 32GB (Black)
02 £26 a month (24 contract)
Unlimited TXT, Talk and 1GB Data

Purchased about a week after launch IIRC

ok in less than a minute I've found this

32GB model (16GB model is quite a bit cheaper)

used to be £26 but O2 put their prices up £1

Now all you need to do is find a retailer offering a good cashback deal to get virtually the same deal as what im on. There is one doing £125 cashback but can't find it now. I'll keep looking if someone is really interested.

is it really that difficult to believe the deal im on? Thinking back, I think mine was £99.99 for the phone and I got £100 cashback.

carphonewarehouse are doing £100 cashback

32GB Model

Makes the phone £69. This is with 5mins looking!! Sure I can get it down a little bit more.

**** Shame Phones4U aren't doing £100 cashback anymore. Sure they will again at some point

Unfortunately the wife is on a SIM only deal with an iPhone 4 at the moment, so can't get upgrade deals, which is where the cheapest deals seem to be at. Incidentally, the CPW 100 quid cash back doesn't include iphones. The 25 notes plus free phone after cash back was what caught my eye and why I was so surprised that everything I found was 200 quid extra over the life of the contract.

The iphone5 pays out at 80 quid it would appear, but still worth having. I didn't doubt your price claims by the way, just the deal you mentioned at 25 quid with effective free phone doesn't seem to be available, though admittedly the deals about aren't miles more expensive, but they do work out at a fiver a month more, which takes it just out of 'must have' to 'a bit more than I want to spend' levels

It would be worth checking since the only exclusions are the 5c and 5s. Quidco has a range of offers which expire at different times. Twenty quid is twenty quid at the end of the day mate.

Keep checking phones4u as well as they are always doing cashback and the 100 comes up quite a bit.

If I order the 5S on Friday how long till I get it? Based on past experience.

From past experience, you will have more chance walking into an apple store and get one than online.

Online usually come with a week or more delay if demands are high but instore they get guarantee delivery everyday so if you go in early enough, you can usually pick one up.

Even if online store has stock, I doubt you will get one until middle of next week.

Sorry if it's been mentioned already but when in theory will I be able to walk into my local Vodafone and try to upgrade to a 5S?
