********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

A little tempted at buying from the PSN store but last time I did that with The Last Of Us and I regret it because I can't resell or lend to a friend etc. :p

Time to get back on GTA 4 :p

On my Royal Mail tracking page:

"Outward RDC Volumetric Acceptance"...

Erm... What? :p

Hmmm from twitter:

@RockstarSupport For the 360, would you recommend to install the 'play' disk to the hard drive or not, if you had the space?

@TurianKnight We do not recommend that.

Well that's just daft. How can the optical disc be anywhere near as fast as the HDD?

I would recommend it, :p don't think people should look into that too much.

Going to pick GTA up from Asda at Midnight, followed by an all nighter and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday off work.

If i hadn't been working today there are plenty of places in Sheffield selling it today little game stores.

Lavvv it

So, postman pulled up outside, promptly went to the back of his van for this areas's deliveries. Disappeared delivering for 20 mins, came back ,got in his van and drove off...

The tease :(

From a quick google, people are saying the optical disc has a quicker read speed than the 360 HDD.

It doesn't, but having both discs on the HDD could mean that rather than pulling data from the disc and the HDD at the same time, performance is bottlenecked by all the data being pulled from the HDD at once. No way of knowing for sure until people do proper comparisons though.

Good point, TheVoice. But I couldn't stand the racket from the disc spinning. So I might install one disc to the HDD and the other to a USB stick.

Were you spying on the postman? Was your heart racing?

:D:D

I thought it was a rule to stiff the booklet?

I'm waiting for this to be release on PC, I'm sure it will be eventually. Reason being it will look better than the 360/PS3 versions and I'm not getting a next gen console anytime soon. Also after I completed the story mission of GTA4 I never really got back into it. Doing random things in an open world City has been done to death, I hope GTA5 can bring something different to the table. I'm just not that excited about it's released although I'm intrigued as to what the critics say.

But that is rockstar's recommendation. Why wouldn't you pay attention to that?

Because it's a lot quieter and (meant to be) faster.

If there's any hard evidence to suggest that it's harmful then I wont of course. But as its stands it's just a message from a R* support employee. :p

In any case lots will still install and lots wont, don't think the world will implode :p
