***The Official Nokia Lumia 1020 Thread***

Megapixels aside, the sample images I've seen suggest the camera behaves well when it comes to noise and chromatic aberrations too. It's a very impressive bit of kit.

I won't be buying one, but I am slightly envious of the photo capability.

just got an email from clove:

We are contacting you with an update on the release of the Nokia Lumia 1020.

Launch of the 1020 is unlikely to be early September as previously suggested. Nokia have not as yet announced availability of the 1020 within the UK.

As soon as we have confirmation from Nokia of an accurate release date we shall contact you again. We do believe the 1020 will be an exciting Smartphone to own and its features will encourage you to wait for what will be, the best Windows Phone to date.

Your patience is appreciated and we will be in touch within due course.

the thing is solid colours don't look that "solid" with pentile and lower res (mind you 720p is no way low but its visible) so tiles and all that IMO won't look as good as they would with lcd and rgb matrix..

On the other hand the perfect blacks of OLED complement the WP layout perfectly. Far better than LCD.

(To dredge up an oldish post)

The chap at O2 is saying too me although people are getting this message they won't receive the phone until release date.
