Batman: Arkham Origins : NVIDIA PhysX Gameplay Trailer

Not really the best screenshots to band about to make a point tho :P seeing as theres so many factual errors in the quotes :P (even if that is arbitary to the attitude point).

Humbug (RIP) said to Thracks once that AMD should lock Nvidia out of TressFX and his reply is below.

What? RIP? plz explain Matt

EDIT: BTw if some of you think its silly to get into an argument about why it may or may not be stupid gimmicky tech then put the thread about a game in the game section no?

Sorry but even very simple googling will show you hes wrong, very very wrong. Don't take my word for it it won't take you 5 seconds to find out for yourself.

Same as the last then, some steam/smoke and paper that moves around, you can't honestly tell me that couldn't have been implemented for everyone? Its hardly ground breaking physics.

I'll try it when I get the game but it just seems a little shallow to be boasting about imo.

Possibly, but who is everyone? Regardless of it being ground breaking it's a technology that allows for some decent effects. I don't see any games with similar real time physics without PhysX?

I remember the original quite well as played it with both 3DVision & Physx, was one of the best single player experiences ever. AC wasn't as good IMO so hopefully this sets the record straight.

Most games sporting some sort of gimmicky or fancy physics are physX based but only because nVidia has been quick to offer the devs the kit not because there isnt anything as good out there. If we look at borderlands 2 we all see a mess of a physx title that is extremely picky about what setup it wants to run well or okayish on and which it dont with no regard to high end products (im talking strictly nvidia setup here not hybrids)

Sure thing, AMD.
Actually if you look at latest Havok engine and what it can do using only the CPU and with a proper dev behind the coding it does make stuff like physx look like a joke due to the hugh difference in resource requirements between the two while being able to do the same. Now im not saying the AMD guy is right that there is no point but i would argue that at this point in time there is no need.

Batman AA and AC are some of the few titles where I really rate the physics effects, yes of course we all want physics to go opencl and open libraries.

I found Batman AC very playable on a single 680 with max eye candy, I was late to the party though so only started playing it after the game, and the Nvidia drivers, were patched.
