I remember with GTA4 playing in non-HD (which I did as well) you couldn't read the map half as well.

No composite is SD, you need a Component PS3 lead (If they do them)
That lead will get you HD and audio if you say you have got HD & Audio on that monitor before with an Xbox and it deffo doesn't have HDMI.

As for the DON'T INSTALL DISC 2 that is correct if you plan on installing them both to the same hard drive (ie internal Hdd

I like many others have been playing disc free in silence using both the internal HDD and any USB pen / external Hdd that has been formatted in the official xbox dash. (Disc 1 --> internal SATA Disc 2 ---> USB device)
