Car accident call

I wouldn't do it but from what others have said it's not a scam sooo it seems to depend on how much you need or want the cash, I would Defo have gone for it when I was younger.

I had my first call from that company last week. They didn't use my name and referred to an accident I had last year.
I've not had an accident in about 15 years.

Scumbag opportunists.

I am currently claiming compensation for my accident back in April.

The long and short of it is, I was side swiped on my bike by someone turning down a side rode between 2 vans. There is more to it than that and I will admit I believe I am partially at fault (Which I have admitted to the police and my insurers)

I fractured my left wrist and my left forearm and had to have 6 weeks off work paying for taxis to and from the hospital etc. My bike was a write off, all my gear needed replacing and since June I have had to get the train into work costing me £550 a month (up from £130 on my bike) The arm has healed (obviously not 100%) but I still struggle to straighten it and my wrist due to fluid still being on the joint and occasionally I get a shooting pain in my arm that doesnt go away until its fully straightened and something by my elbow has clicked/popped.

I feel im at least partially justified in claiming but what actually got me was the woman who hit me (she was doing no more than about 5-10 mph, Has claimed for personal injury for her, her fella and her kids O.o

Dd you lose any income? Did money heal the emotional injuries?

The system is insane.

You seem a little out of touch with the whole concept of the civil court system and personal injuries.

Should no personal injury claims ever be allowed because the money doesn't heal the injuries? Should a rape victim for example not be allowed to sue their attacker because money won't heal the emotional injuries?

People need to stop reading the daily mail and being outraged over every personal injury case they hear of.

When they phone back just tell them you are tracing the call and recording the conversation for security and quality control purposes. If they hang up = Scam, if they don't then they are stupid aswell..

See that's justified, her, that is not who's insurance is she claiming on? Her own? Silly bint she's only increasing her own premiums.

These jokers crack me up. A few years ago, I was in a petrol station and came out of the shop to a Skoda Octavia parked in the side of my Z4. The damage was cosmetic and the old fella apologised and was on his way. We went through insurance, I got a new door skin and the whole thing was resolved.

Over 3 years later I'm still getting calls about claiming for my injuries. I entertained one of the callers and told him I wasn't injured because I wasn't in the car when it happened. His reply was along the lines of "I don't see that being a problem, we can claim for the stress and emotional damage you experienced... blah blah blah".

I can understand psychological damage after a major incident. I still wake up screaming after dreams about my motorbike accident 11 years ago. But after a car park ding when I wasn't even in the damn car? It really annoys me that claims of this nature are being processed every day. Don't get me started on those who hear the fruit machine bell go ding ding ding as soon as they receive the call.

I gave them my mobile number and asked for a call back as they were fishing for personal details and I didn't feel comfortable.

I was hit at 2mph, obviously apart from having a row with the driver, there were no emotional injuries, only the cost of time taking the car to the repair center.

They haven't called me back, I wouldn't have claimed anyway, but I am sure many people would have. They need to fix the system in my view.

I had a friend who got into a car with his drunk mate who crashed into a tree, my friend broke his legs and got £15,000.00 comp. He knew his mate was drunk and got in the car anyway...Its wrong.

I heard on the radio today that people are flashing cars (to allow them to pull out) then deliberately driving into them which means they can claim for injury plus blame the other car for pulling out...

That's disgusting and needs stamping out, the Russian practice of having dash cams pointing in all directions is on the way:mad::confused:

Yup, one in each corner, and one in the centre on the back and rear. £200 worth of cameras for the cheapest ones OcUK stock

What a scummy way to earn a living. I can totally understand serious accidents but little bumps in car parks? They need to crack down on this as everyone takes the hit with increased insurance costs.

It's not just the financial aspect it's the sleazy dog eat dog mindset that permeates society.

Oh come off it. Getting paid of for emotional injuries for a child involved in a minor bump. Are we so bubble wrapped that we cant write anything off to bad luck?

What if you come round my house and stub your toe? Shall I hand you a tenner?

We all end up paying for it in our premiums, the only people that make any money out of the compensation race is the lawyers.

Unfortunately its the way of the world as pathetic as it is now, people suing others at every chance they get and they do not see that the increase in premiums over the next god knows how many years will screw them but get instant gratification from the readily available cash they suddenly have. I was petrified yesterday that I could potentially get sued by some muppet, as I currently have an electrician (not the muppet) at my house and he called me to say the manhole on my drive had collapsed and there was a gaping hole in my drive. I know that the drop is around 8 foot down and someone could easily fall down there and seriously hurt themselves.

I also remember an old lady falling over outside my dad's shop when it was snowing and she tried to sue him for negligence because he did not clear the path.

My insurance got stung for about 7k after a minor bump (only damage was a broken number plate) induced an alleged injury. 3 years of me paying vastly increased insurance means I wouldn't hesitate to do the same should the opportunity arise.

Keep a cheap camera in the car, can save you a lot of grief later on, if you take a few pics of the prang.

My sister got clipped, nothing serious, just a scratched bumper, no details were exchanged at the time.

I took a few sneaky photo's of the miniscule damage to his car.

A few hours later Rozzers turned up on the door, about the prang, took insurance details, next day insurance company phoned up about his claim for several thousand pound of damage caused by sister.
His car had gained a creased wing, etc, etc, in original prang she had no damage, sister emailed photo's to her insurance, she heard no more from them.

This is the next iteration of the "take brake light bulbs out and stand on the brakes to have someone drive into the back of you" scam.

This new scam is much harder to disprove in court, because there is much less evidence, and it become one person's word against the other's. There are no skid marks, no bulbs to be found to be disconnected.

What's worse is that these scum are targeting old drivers and women with children in the car, as they are seen as more vulnerable and more likely to pay up or be disbelieved in court.
