*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

I love Zelda games but I have to say, out of the ones I've played, Wind Waker is one of my least favorites.

I really liked the graphics and the story but I think the amount of traveling (sailing) put me off it a whole lot.
I remember I used to set course and then go on my computer for a few minutes and occasionally glance over at my TV to see if I was at my destination or not

The Sailing time has been shortened for the remake:D

I'm expecting WWaker to be pulling in some big review scores.

Got my copy pre-ordered.

I had it preordered but cancelled because of the timing, GTA V and the PS4 are too close. It took me months to get half way through WW all those years ago. Epic game.

Super Mario Bros.U and Super Luigi.U

Luigi one says it supports the Pro Controller. Both controllers (Pro and gamepad) work fine with both games on single player, then when you put it on 2 player the WiiU says we have to change the gamepad to either a Wii remote or WiiU Pro controller.

Tried Mario myself and yes you need a Wiimote as well as the Pro controller to play multi. Never noticed it before. You can play Wiimote and gamepad together also seems odd that you can't use Pro and Gamepad together.
Assume you don't have a Wii then? Can understand why you're annoyed...

I suggest you pick up a cheap Wiimote. It's andy to have for other games.

So I decided to have a session on Pikmin (ok about 3 hours) on Sunday and now sitting at 60/66 fruits before moving onto the final part of the game :p

Should have the game finished soon so I can move onto W101. Still love how beautiful the game is and is such a calming gaming experience...it really is terrific I must say, plus the mini puzzles are great.

I love the one where you pick up the fence with the flying Pikmin and sneak in to grab the fruit without being spotted...genius.

In addition to that 9.8 IGN...looking forward to this now :D

@budge1972 Donkey Kong Country Returns on Wii was also made by Retro ;)

In Pikmin 3 related news I finally got around to completing it the other night...
I must say that last boss/level was a hassle and a half...considering I managed to discover so many shortcuts as I made my way through the "longer" way!

Don't know if collecting all the fruit I could prior to getting the Water and Flying Pikmin was a wise move but hey :p

Really glad WW is scoring well, pleased for Nintendo more than anything to be fair! Never got around to playing all the way through on the GC, so will be a new experience to me. :)

Hopefully this time round it'll be recognised for the gem it is. I was so disappointed when they scrapped the cell shaded look for Twilight Princess.

I'm still in two minds about actually opening and using the Wind Waker themed Wii U - what're you guys doing?

Tempted to just keep it and the Ganondorf CE sealed while I'm catching up on other new releases, and then picking up a regular Wii U somewhere down the line when it's hopefully cheaper. Don't know whether I could really justify that though :/

I couldn't give a flying **** about figurines and limited edition cack - I just want to play everything Nintendo throws my way. Standard game in standard plastic box = me happy.

What you gonna do - keep it sealed and hand it onto your kids like some sort of family heirloom, or do you want to get buried with it when you die? :p

I dunno what it is :p part of me doesn't want to use it in-case it gets scuffed or anything like that. But as far as I can tell the only Zelda themed bit is the gamepad - are there any covers out there that I can put on it to prevent that happening? On the other hand, I could use the digital code included with the console to avoid opening the Collector's Edition.
