*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

I dunno what it is :p part of me doesn't want to use it in-case it gets scuffed or anything like that.

You have issues :p

If it helps then my standard gamepad has been a the mercy of my two girls 8yrs and 4yrs and there's not even a hint of a scratch on it - they're really quite durable.

Nintendo will have sealed the extra markings on the LE gamepad with a lacquer of some sorts surely.

Yeah, I know I do :D

Ah, that's good to know, thanks! My friends are incredibly careless with my controllers and such, and have broken or damaged several of them so didn't really want a repeat of that with such a lovely looking gamepad.

Thought I'd post this in here for you Nintendo fans who may have been unaware.

Hiroshi Yamauchi, the Japanese businessman credited with transforming Nintendo into a world-leading video games company, has died aged 85.
Mr Yamauchi ran the firm for 53 years, and was its second-largest shareholder at the time of his death.
The company confirmed the news in an emailed statement.
A spokesman said the firm was in mourning over the "loss of the former Nintendo president Mr Hiroshi Yamauchi, who sadly passed away this morning."
Mr Yamauchi ran the company from 1949 until 2002.
In that time, he took what was a small-time collectable trading card company and built it into one of the most recognisable - and successful - video games brands today.

Guy was a bit of a legend. RIP.

Well that's my friends list cut by 50% :p

Hehe well you were my only friend on NNID too, i think thats a big downfall of the console, not enough in-game interaction with other people and not that easy to meet people that also have the wii u other then the miiverse thing which i was not that keen on really.

All that shows me it that cell shading worked really on the gamecube and that in most cases I actually prefer the higher saturated and cleaner gamecube graphics.

Kreeeeee its all down to opinions...there are certainly aspects of the GC version I prefer but overall I love the look of the HD version...the simple aspect area change makes such a difference and the town look amazing in comparison.

Can't wait for my copy to come through as I only complete one play through of Wind Waker...although its tempting to get the GameCube out again!

Well that comparison has confirmed to me that it's not worth getting. I mean if it was £15 then maybe but a full retail price can't be justified for that unless you are a Zelda nut.

My point is that it really doesn't seem like much of an upgrade because the art style doesn't need much grunt to look good.

True...still think it looks much better though :)

The inclusion of the faster sail makes things a lot easier/quicker in terms of travel and the triforce quest has been shortened...they've basically perfected the game in a way which is good enough for me, plus 10 years since I played it, will be more than worth revisiting.

Plenty of good review scores out there too...

Ive yet to play this ... Lucky me :) I think the HD version looks beautiful.
I'm ok with the price seeing as it's such a highly rated game.

Jealous of you budge :) In saying that, as I've only done one play through I will not remember much...although I'm gonna brave Hero Mode :D

To be fair with such a good job that's been done with this remake it will be interesting to see if they follow suit with a Twilight Princess remake in HD...something I wouldn't mind seeing ;)

Having an HD remake while we wait for the next proper Zelda sequel wouldn't be a bad thing to do...would make a lot of sense.

Wind Waker HD > Zelda Wii U > Twilight Princess HD > Zelda Wii 3 :p

Rayman Legends £20.99 on Wii U right now on Amazon...seems to load up as 37.99 but through another reseller...select more options and Amazon.co.uk are selling it for £20.99 ;) 1-3week lead time but doubt it'll be that long.
