thinking im taking quite a risk if I go for a corsair tx 650w psu for either 2 7950's or 7950 & 7970

I have been also looking at the corsair cx 750w but unsure about the quality of these , seem to be corsairs bottom line.

to be honest ive not had anything set in stone but not huge, im well aware that a psu is the backbone to any system so been to much of a cheap skate isn't a good idea.

there was a 700w GS series aswell ive looked , ive looked second hand but seeing as it will be powering these 2 gpus at pretty much full load nearly 24/7 folding it needs to be half decent & have a warranty

to get better value im not bothered as to weather its modular or not.

£70 ish 80 max

Here are some recommendations:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Antec High Current Gamer 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (0-761345-06223-7) £99.95
1 x Xigmatek Centauro 800W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply £89.99
1 x XFX Pro 750W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £89.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020061-UK) £73.99
1 x Corsair 2013 Edition Gamer Series GS 700W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020064-UK) £71.99
Total : £438.50 (includes shipping : £10.50).

I would ideally recommend a Seasonic, XFX or Antec as they are all Seasonic components and would be your perfect PSU. The new Corsair RM models are great too, but if this is your budget, here are your options :)

cx 750w gives upto 62A this should be plenty for 2 cards im guessing. I wont fold on the cpu so that'll nearly be idle, just the 2 cards pulling power.

If you already had the 650W I would say to keep it and don't overclock the cards too much... if you are buying new, just get a good 750W

yup the cx 750 above is what I was reffering to aswell, I think this gets my vote,

does any body know if the free shipping is next day? I think ill just pay for shipping as I want it now even though I don't need it now haha :D

three year warranty makes this nice!

Should be next day DPD if I remember correctly.

Tx650 is easily enough for crossfire 7950's even highly overclocked. With 2 7970's you wouldn't want to go crazy with the voltage but should be fine for average overclocks.

I had a 7950 boost with 2500k and at stock the entire system drew under 200w fully loaded.

I have a 500w enermax which will be going else were to allow my gtx560ti to fold away 24.7 without interruption.

because of the heat they wont be overclocked, ive been looking at B grade items aswell but there just isn't any price reduction from new items at all
