Found someone's holiday photos

Sounds to me like the camera was stolen and they dumped the cards. Photos are often really treasured - if you can trace the owners they'd probably be delighted to have them.


Now you have the location it'll be worth contacting them - with a band in the photos etc it sohuld be easy for the campsite to know the exact date and some of the people involved.
 
This search has taken me on a lovely trip through some of rural France (albeit on Google Maps). What a beautiful place it is. I know where I'll be going on my hols next year.
 
Went on hol to Charente-Maritime this summer for 2 weeks. It's an absolutely beautiful country. I could seriously live there for the rest of my life, they have everything I need.

If the OcUK collective finds the owners this thread will be legendary!
 
Looks like one of the people in the photo's above is also the Archery instructor, or he just visits often.

Interesting thread. I find it odd that the cards would just be randomly lost in the woods, so Im going with the theory that the camera was stolen and the cards dumped.

Either that, or you have just stumbled across a missing person/couples cards and now all hell is going to break loose.
 
Good work. He sure does look like the archery instructor there.

Worth emailing the camp site one of the family photo shots to see if they remember them. If we include the date from the exif data it may help.
 
Threads like this one restore my faith in humanity, bravo sir! Hope you manage to re-unite these people with their photos :)

It did take a fair few combinations. I started looking for camp sites in Tursac. And the marquee is quite a feature of the site, so I was hoping there would be a review for the site somewhere mentioning they had a nice drink out over the lake. Tursac specific searches or marquee searches were getting me no where, so I broadened it to the whole of France and changed from marquee to bar. And it worked, yay.
 
Since there are exactly the same photos on their facebook page as found on the camera, it seems the photos were downloaded to a computer before the cards were lost anyway. There might still be some from the day it was lost that might not have been recovered though.

To me it looks like the campsite owner's camera which they use to take promotional material
