and now wondering about a cooler upgrade too. Was considering either one of the Corsair refurbed close looped water coolers.

Baring in mind the spec, would you go for the H60 or H100?

My case is a 300R so would I have room for the H100? Where is best to place either of them?

I'm considering crossfire in the not to distant future so will want to squeeze everything I can from the 8320.

Thanks :)

Budget is £250 - £260 including cooler. I've considered all the intel options but without drawing in a debate here, just don't see the value in spending any more. I'm quite happy with AMD for my usage.

A refurbished h100 with some decent fans would be your best bet.

That's what I was thinking. Will there be room in my case? (300R)

Looks like I have the option of the side panel but that's a pain for access them, or the roof but that looks quite tight?

closed loop coolers really arent that good, your better off just getting a good air cooler imo. unless, like me, you want one for aesthetics

Oh really? I was expecting quite a bit more cooling performance? And quieter too? which to be honest is my main reason for wanting one. My current Xigamtek Loki cooler does a good enough job but is too noisey for me, as the tower sits on the desk right next to my head pretty much.

Hmm, looking around the interweb I don't think the H100 is going to fit.

Think I might go for the H80 as that comes with the Corsair link which I assume means I can control fan speeds etc via a software UI?

The H80, H100 does not come with the Corsair link cable so you can't control the fans speed directly.

Just stick it to a fan controller if you got one or to the mobo cpu + Cha fan header and do it via bios, asus utility or other software.

Btw the H80 comes with 2 fans compared to 1 with the H60.

Thanks mate. I reckon the H80 is looking to be the winner.

So do i need to buy a corsair link cable as well as the H80?

I thought the corsair closed loop coolers fit into all or most of corsairs cases. Including the 300r.
If im not mistaken i think it fits to the top.

From what I'm reading, and looking through the grill at the top, there's sod all room really.

Apparently someone managed it just about by replacing the fans for low profile versions, but still admits it's then completely dependent on choosing the right mobo so the heatsinks don't contact. You can't do push/pull either.

Someone else custom fitted one to the front of the case, by removing the hard drive drawers, but I don't want to do that either.

The margin of error for the guy that fitted slimline fans was 0.8mm! Too much hassle for my liking. Shame though :(
