Hey folks, could anyone explain to me why I cant adjust my Mic sound effects like noice cancellation etc within HD Audio manager. It seems to be stuck greyed out and it's annoying me because my friends kept mentioning to me that my voice sounded a bit static or fuzzed. Also the mic volume seems to be self adjusting even though I havent set it to. I'm having to offset that by changing the Mic boost

Thanks.

look in the settings somewhere for ac97 sound or disable front panel jack detection

it should then unlock the front panel mic/headphones

Ok I will try that but My mic is actually plugged into the Rear jack so any advice on that?

thanks.

ohh I don't know

back ones are analogue according to that screen, front ones are digital? so might affect things hence setting to ac97 or disable jack detection

not sure

Ok so changing the front panel to AC97 makes no different (the front is analogue its just the digital label is a bit to far to the left, its dumb i know) I tried un-plugging and plugging everything and re-assigning the mic as "mic out" but yet to no avail. 1 note Default format for the mic will change with ease but no other mic settings :(

have you looked in the white speaker icon(not realtek)bottom right of taskbar for the mic settings? might be something in there to adjust

If Your meaning the windows Mic setting, I still get the same old 'greyed out' settings appart from the windows enhancements which are only DC offset cancellation. Here's one or 2 snips to help you

thanks.

idk why its greyed out,any asus software for it? seems to be voizreal sorry I never seen it before

Yeah it's fine I've never heard of it before either I've tried latest drivers etc. Do you think I should tru and find the asus sound software and download it instead? cheers.

Had a look on their site, looks like i have the latest drivers and the latest version of the HD Audio manager. :( great. Any other suggestions?

cheers.

You know what? screw it, I might aswell just buy a dedicated sound card cause i need the headphone amp that you get with dedicated sound. What do you recomend? I was thinking the sound blaster recon 3D or an asus DX XD ?
